@rentaduckie I didn't know I could look back please excuse me that was a while ago..I just looked at my post history when you mentioned that I didn't even know was an option..no reason to be rude about it, it was just a simple question as you can see I haven't posted much so THANK YOU to the couple that let me know because apparently asking a question more then one time isn't allowed!
I didn't know I could go back and check..now I do but every time someone leaves a comment the person goes and searches there previous posts for the same question..I never asked that on this board so clearly she had to take the time to look..one person could have responded and I would have looked..sorry to annoy anyone..love how friendly people are

We check because we don't know you.
You did ask on this board, in a 2ww thread and were provided the link.
One person did answer, and so did others. You can't tell us how we can respond any more than we can keep you from asking the same thing multiple times. (But being new you should really read the newbie blog and that would have given you your answer.)
I also love how friendly people here are.

comments like that make you rude..so we're like in high school now I see and I'm a newb..like come on I thought this was a place for ADULTS who are trying to conceive..not high schoolers who thinks its fun make something out of nothing..
Since I'm new maybe someone can tell me how I delete this whole thread.

There is a lot of confusing lingo. I still have to look things up on occasion. That is one of many reasons why you should lurk for a while. You can pick up a lot of the abbreviations just from context. Plus you learn how the board works and what is considered rude-like deleting a post or not going back to see that people have answered your questions. It's a learning curve but you can get a lot out of TTGP if you read the newbie blog and stick around. Good luck.
They have BD listed as "big deed". I always thought it was "baby dance". Both are equally as awful. I also dislike BBS for boobs...for the love of God just say the actual word. Sometimes a short form just isn't worth it.

I think those are the two officially most hated abbreviations. I rarely see anyone even use them.

I love my corgi But I agree with a PP, just head to the shelter or foster homes and feel them out. My brother had a mutt, some kind of shepherd mix, he adopted. Sweetest dog I've ever met. I miss him.

No your entire demeanor is rude. You come to this board asking the same fucking question for a third time because you're too lazy to read the glaring NEW HERE? READ THIS at the top of the board. Hell, you were too lazy to read the responses to your own previous questions!
So quit acting like an entitled, self righteous twit and move along. Educate yourself, because this ISNT high school and we aren't your teachers.
We have a schnoodle (we think), he's from the shelter so we don't know exactly. I agree to not focus on the breed and ask the shelter workers about the personality.
@PeanutRN I have a Westie- great dogs! Good for apartment living, good with cats, good with children, very social, LOVES people. Ours isn't laid back though, he has a lot of energy, but he's little so he doesn't need hours of walking like large breeds do.

King Charles Cavalier spaniels!!!! Super cute, mild mannered, quiet and cuddly. I love them so much. Almost cat like. Perhaps that's why I like them so much.......also shelties! They are awesome but they have a lot of energy and need to run. They can be a little bit barky but not too bad.

I vote for rescuing a greyhound! They're sweet and gentle, and surprisingly don't need huge amounts of space (of course you need to walk them often).
As far as the OP, what a whiny rude person. "Oh noes, someone told me I was wrong. Waaaaaaaah!" I think it's hilarious she literally went running to mommies.

I love my corgi, too! But he is very high energy. I don't know of many small dogs that are calm. Pug, French bulldog, English bulldog. For a big dog, Great Danes and Other large breeds tend to be very calm as adults. You should take the 'which breed' quiz on animal planet's website. It is a great place to start. Or a good dog breed book.

I've always wanted a Bulldog. They are very sweet and laid back. Great family dogs.
English or American?
English are expensive from day one with a whole host of problems. Unless you have unlimited resources to treat chronic skin, gi and breathing issues I don't recommend them.
Shelter dogs are the best.
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

I've always wanted an English but yes, they can be high maintenance physically. I agree about shelter dogs. Mine is a rescue mutt and he is as sweet as can be. I also like shelter dogs because they are usually mixed breeds. I've had two pure breeds and they were both nuts!(not that they're all that way but it can happen with inbreeding) and I agree with what PP said about foster dogs. The foster parents can give you an idea of what the dog is like and if he/she fits your lifestyle.
On that note...I'm thinking about adopting a puppy. Anyone have any breed recommendations? Preferably medium sized but open to all sizes.

Rental house, not a lot of space. Medium yard. Laid-back breed preferably. Sweet and calm demeanor
-------- @PeanutRN Big advocate of greyhounds! They are large dogs but super chill and exceptionally sweet. The 45 mph couch potato. You can find relatively young dogs and they come pre - trained though you do have to teach them to live in a house. We have had our grey for 9 years and he's just the best dog! Added bonus, as far a lifespan goes, for big dogs they are impressive. . 12-14 years
Edit - didn't see @Peledreamsofrain 'so greyhound pitch so.. second! And we got our boy when we lived in a one bedroom apartment if that gives you an idea of space needed

I have two cavaliers, and they are the best. But I doubt you will find one in a shelter.
Not in a shelter, by my mom and later H and I adopted through Cavalier Rescue USA, which is a national cavalier rescue group that has lists of dogs available by region. They are volunteers and the dogs are exclusively fostered, so they're rescues but you don't run into some of the issues that you can run into with dogs that have been in physical shelters. I will say that organizations like this one (our other dog is also through a rescue that is a network of fosters) do not adopt out cheaply.
We adopted our Cav as an adult (she was 8 when we got her) and she's chill to the point of catatonic. She's sleeping under my feet right now snoring away. And she's incredibly sweet and patient.
Our other dog is our Corgi/Jack Russell mix and he's a great size but a lot of energy and a barker. Lots of training with both of those breeds, but they're wonderful dogs. Our next will probably be a Corgi and I'd like to get a puppy because having been on both sides of that adoption spectrum I'd rather deal with puppy training. If we had a large yard we'd get a greyhound in a heartbeat. There's a fantastic greyhound rescue here and the dogs are so sweet.
