1971 representing here. "The Breakfast Club" was the first R movie I ever saw in a movie theater (we snuck in).
Me: 42, DH: 40; Surprise BFP 4/27/2011; no heartbeat at 9w3d, we miss you, Baby Manatee; D&C 6/1/2011; AF returned 6/26/2011; Ready to try for our take-home baby. 7/24/2011--BFP! Peanut born March 2012; BFP: 7/31/2013!; blighted ovum at 7 weeks 8/26/2013. Holy Cannoli! BFP 2/23/2014. EDD 11/6/2014!
1978. Haven't seen Ferris or any Molly Ringwald Movie. But I love me some Top Gun, Princess Bride, Neverending Story and Dirty Dancing. Also -- Adventures in Babysitting. I watched that all. the. time.
But my favorite one is one nobody else has probably ever seen, LOL. "Sing" which came out in 1989. It was starred Lorraine Bracco, Peter Dobson and Patti Labelle. Awesome soundtrack!
I fucking LOVE "Sing".
Also, another Molly Ringwald one that needs mentioning - "For Keeps". Obsessed.
1981! And I need to find Pretty in Pink to see what's it all about. Yes... I haven't seen it plus many other early 80's movies. *hangs head in shame* but I have a extremely good excuse. I need captions on the movies and Tv shows... And back in the 80's they just released a new tv caption decoder machine so there really wasn't any movies that was captioned back then. I'm pretty sure it is now if I find it on Netflix. I'm keeping a list of tv shows and movies to catch up on while stuck on the couch BFing. :-D
1985. I have to admit, I have never watched the princess bride. I just laugh or smile whenever someone makes a reference and hope I'm not exposed for the phony I am .
Also, I know this is a 90s reference but I worked at a high school summer camp with a guy who did stand up comedy and would preform at the talent show to make it more bearable. He had a joke about Captain Planet that was really funny and all the campers thought it was funny. Then one week we had all incoming freshman only, and NONE OF THEM laughed at his Captain Planet joke because they didn't know who he was!!! It was my first time feeling old. I was 21.
A few of my favorite 80's movies are The Princess Bride, Labyrinth and Dirty Dancing (which is DH's guilty pleasure movie, but he will never admit it!)
Funny side note, The Never Ending Story (84) used to scare the crap out of me. Big problem because it's one of my moms favorites and she loved watching it with me. I never had the the heart to tell her, so I would suddenly need to use the bathroom, or get a drink, or something during the scary parts, lol.
Also, my three absolute all time favorite movies were released before 1965. Pollyanna, The Parent Trap & Mary Poppins. Love, love, love those three!
Bicentennial babe here (1976 for those of you really bad at American History). And I love 80s movies. My favorite is Better Off Dead. Whenever I give DS raisins, I say "It has raisins in it. You like raisins."
I'm home and watching "pretty on pink" my favorite 80's movie.
I was born In 1975.
It got me thinking I bet some of you were born AFTER this movie was made in 1986!!!!
What year were you born in?
1983! I love 80s movies! The cornier the better! Some of my favs have been mentioned but here is a list off the top of my head: Mannequin, Dirty Dancing, Princesss Bride, Three Men and a Baby, Troop Beverly Hills, American Dreamer, Look Who's Talking (was this early 90s?), Overboard!
I watched 3 Men and a Baby after finding out I was pregnant; It was really fun to watch!

1987! Grew up with brothers 9 and 12 years older than me, though, so I've seen - and love - aaaaaallllllll the good 80s movies! I watched "Baby Boom" (for the 1000th time) right after I found out we were expecting
