TTC after 35

I just couldn't resist

So this morning at 10DPO I decided to poas & test with fmu. What a surprise BFN :(( . I have a shortened LP, so I hope my new RE can get that corrected. AF is due tmow & now I have to prepare myself, so in a few days I'll be doing my CD3 blood work & ultrasound. Looking forward to what else is my IF problem besides the LP deficient. So sick of seeing others preg who are overweight, drink, smoke, don't wanna be pg, or have health issues get pg with a snap of a finger. I'm gonna throw myself a pity party tonight, Moscato sounds like a remedy

Bummer. Moscato and chocolate, perhaps? I hope the RE can sort things out for you.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

Aww... >:D<  I'm so sorry.  I'm more of a red wine person myself - a good shiraz or cabernet never hurt anyone but Moscato sounds nice.  How about going all the way and treat yourself well tonight: a hot bath/shower with your favorite bath salts, good music, and add some biscotti and fruit tarts with that Moscato?  I agree with @CaraH: Chocolate is always a must!

Whatever it is that you have to do to get this out of your system and get you ready for what's ahead of you, do it!  Hopefully, this is the start of some positive, concrete next steps that move you closer to your having a healthy and safe pregnancy.  Focus on that and feel better!

I'm sorry about the BFN.  I second the adding something sweet with the wine.  Hopefully you can get some real answers soon.

  • I'm sorry about the BFN!

Are you absolutely sure you're out?  I don't know much about short LP, but it seems like many people don't get BFPs until after 10 DPO, regardless of LP length.  Maybe AF won't show up as planned?

I usually get AF on CD25. I just recently started temping, this is my third cycle. So I'm not sure if I've always had a short LP. Perhaps that explains why I've only been of twice in my life. At my RE apt the nurse asked me a few questions b4 I meet with the doc. She asked how many pregnancies, I replied "two ( 1 m/c & my son)". Then she asked, any abortions I gave her a puzzled look and said no. I guess some ladies have been around the block a few times. @Davie813‌ it would be great if the test was defective or AF doesn't show up. In the meantime I have to maintain happy positive thoughts

We've _all_ been around the block a few times--that's why we're on TTC After 35. :) We bring a variety of experiences to this board, and having terminated a pregnancy is probably not an uncommon one . (The fact that we're all SO ready for a baby now doesn't mean we always were.)

Yay for happy positive thoughts! We're pretty much cycle buddies. I'm on 11 dpo (bfn today--boo!)

  • @C_Girlie‌, thanks! Mine isn't due til Mon. I'm out of bots, so maybe I'll leave it alone until then. Pretty sure I'm out at this pt, though.

I'm glad AF isn't here for you yet--sounds promising! FX she stays gone!

  • @Davie813‌ remain positive. DH woke me up last night around 10 he asked "why have u been so sleepy, are u pg"? My answer was no ( he's not aware that I tested & got a bfn). Lol this morning he asks me again "are u feeling ok, why have u been sleeping a lot"? My response "idk, prob the allergy meds". Anyway my temps have been going up since I O'ed, I had a slight dip this morning but still well above my cover line. The pass few days CM went from creamy to wet. My CM never does that, but I still have my usual pre AF symptoms. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, don't wanna be disappointed
  • C_Girlie and @Davie813‌ - i am also cycle buddies and today saw a little temp dip but within the range.  doesn't mean a thing... now that my app Kindara made sharing charts i have been stalking some that look similar to mine, and some that got pregnant, and they are all so different.  i've dipped before and always BFN.  my AF is due tuesday.  FX for us all!
PS I have no symptoms whatsoever.
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
