Re: ~High Risk Check-In~

  • How far along are you/EDD? ---14 weeks and 3 days/ 11/19/14 What makes you High Risk? ---3 unexplained losses. 1 at 10 weeks, 1 at 26 weeks, 1 at 18 weeks. Possible blood clotting disorder. How are you managing? Ok. Trying to be optimistic and enjoy this time with baby no matter the outcome. Any thoughts/concerns/vents/questions. Frustrating that no one can give me a definitive answer to what's wrong. The drs are even stumped... GTKY: What is your favorite way to de-stress while pregnant? Watch tv and online shopping
I'm SO sorry to hear of your losses :( . Was it preterm labor that caused them? Only asking because if so, have your doctors thought about Incompetent cervix? Have they ran the blood tests for MTHFR and other clotting disorders? There's meds to take for certain ones that will prevent problems.

    How Far Along Are You/EDD?

    16 weeks, 6 days!  Due 11/03/2014.

    What Makes You High Risk?

I am a clotter--have a history of multiple DVT and PEs.  Also, while trying, learned I have Hashimoto's Disease (Thyroid fun).

    How Are You Managing?

Fine.  I hate the twice daily enoxaparin sodium injections.  I started them January 2013 when we started trying to conceive, so I am ready to have a bumpless, non-bruised stomach again.  All in all, it could be much worse.  I can't really complain.  Also, I am truly loving all the extra ultrasounds to see my little girl!

    Any Thoughts/Concerns/Questions?

Not currently.  My doctors don't seem overly worried about my particular flavor of hish-riskness so I am trying to take their cues.  I suppose I am *very* apprehensive about the delivery as pregnancy puts me at a higher risk for clotting and I have to go off the blood thinners to deliver.  Again, the doctors say plenty of women do it just fine...but you know... :(

GTKY: What Is Your Favorite Way To De-Stress While Pregnant?

I just went on a Caribbean cruise.  So far THAT is my favorite.  :)  I wonder if I can get my husband to do one next time I need to de-stress...  ;)

  • @Lilwatz‌ hi I also take Lovenox due to having a stroke, I am switching over to Heparin in the last few weeks of pregnancy. When are you due to go off the Lovenox entirely? I am also a little nervous of getting another clot, also because my case is rare. Sending happy healthy pregnancy thoughts!
