@holly_1007 I'm so bored at my job, this is the only thing keeping me sane. Our internet use is supposedly very strictly monitored... but I'm doing alright so far.
There is a woman on my team whose son is 11.5 months old. He didn't gain weight since his last checkup, so the doctor was a bit concerned. The doctor apparently told her that her son should be having 30-36 ounces of milk a day. I overheard their conversation and said, "Just my .02, feel free to disregard - but that's an extremely high amount of milk, even for a baby half his age. I'd maybe speak to a second doctor. Weight loss can be normal once they are more mobile, as long as his diaper output is normal and he's hitting his milestones, and the weight loss doesn't continue. I do understand your concern, though!"
My supervisor turned to me, scoffed loudly in my face, and said, "Wow, what do you know? You have ONE!"
I turned right back and said, "I may only have one but I do talk to other people with kids, too. Plus your kids are 12 and 6, my daughter is not yet 2. I have more recent and updated experience. I was just offering another point of view, the same as you. I told her she can disregard my statement."
I'm going back to not speaking to anyone here about anything apart from work.
Fucking fuck. Daycare just called. C is throwing up. I'm really glad I drove my 1 hr. 10 mins. to work for 1 hr. 20 mins. to drive back 1 hr. 10 mins. X(
Maybe they'll let me do some work from home. Fingers are crossed.

I really hate it when I post something on FB and 5 seconds later the same person every time comments. Don't you have a life? I would block her but I can't because she's a close family friend and it would be awkward. So strange.

Hannah has been finding something new to obsess/fret over every week for the last month or so.
Out of nowhere, something that she has always done without issue, and even enjoyed is awful and terrifying.
A few weeks ago, it was baths, and this kid LOVES the bath, always. She would throw herself on the floor, sob, and once we finally got her in the tub, she would refuse to sit down.
Next, it was getting dressed for daycare. Now, it's putting on shoes.

I can't keep up.
This was us too. He loves the bath and a few weeks ago we couldn't keep him in it. He'd freak out the second he heard the water. Now you can't get him out. DH added more bubbles and now he can't get enough of the bubbles. "Dada, tub, more bubbles."
I have a wedding next weekend. I will probably just go to the reception. DH doesn't want to go so he is going to stay home with G. I'm going to wear my new black dress but I'm not sure what shoes to wear with the dress. I can't wear too high of a heel. Comfort and I'm too tall. I have a sandal wedge that has cork and scrolling on the bottom. That's like the only thing I can think to wear. Not sure. It's kinda fancy.
I could use a drink stronger than my coffee right now. I need more hours in the day.
Me too!

We went through this over the summer. It took a combo of bubbles, spraying fountains, and new toys that are only in the tub to get her back to loving them.

What time of day is it? Any shoe will work with a black dress unless it is too casual for an evening wedding. Otherwise you are pretty safe.

Men (especially 4 of them) should not make vacation decisions alone.
There was a HUGE airline special the other day where DH found $15 flights to Disney. Instead of calling my cousins (who are going with us) immediately to confirm dates, he sat on that knowledge and prices all.damn.day. Then when he finally decided to talk to everyone, I was on the metro, so I couldn't chime in.
The site was having connectivity issues all day - go figure. DH DIDN'T buy all 5 tickets at once and instead my cousins decided to buy theirs separately. On a site that was having connection issues and dates were selling out ridiculously fast. Anyone else see a problem here?
The cousins that make half of what we do, didn't get the cheap rates because they couldn't get through in time. Then they decided to take a different flight all together makingour travel day infinitely more difficult. This never would have happened if a woman was involved. ha!

When your ONLY JOB is to process files, and I ask you to either add a tab to a database and keep track of certificate students or notify me when you accept them and you respond back with "You know you can run a report in Cognos for that right?" it makes me want to lose my mind.
This woman is the same pay grade as me. When we transitioned roles 2 years ago, she was the ONLY PERSON on the admissions side not offered an advisor job. Our boss keeps taking work away from her because she's "overwhelmed" even though her only responsibility is to process files after we as advisors have already completed them. It's 8 keystrokes in the computer. 8. that's it. And then add them to their appropriate databases and turn the files over to work study for filing. THATS IT. Your whole job would be an hour of my damn day.
My kid is turning into such a hoarder lately. Every time I want to take her upstairs or downstairs, I have to wait for her to grab 3 sippy cups, a doll, a lovie, 2 cars, a purse, 4 board books and 3 balls. Or something similar. I used to be able to carry both the baby and the toddler upstairs at the same time, but now my toddler just has too. much. stuff.
Umm..NM on the Crocs in store. I just found out they have a whole store near us. Woot.

Color drops worked for us, but then she focused her attention on getting dressed, and shoe-wearing. She's a crazy person trapped in a tiny body.
Wedding question: DH and I are both part of my brothers wedding party. On the dress and tux alone we have already shelled out close to $400. Last night I got a text from one of the bridesmaids showing us the shoes we need to buy. Although they are only $40, they have a 4" stiletto heel! I never wear heels because I can't walk in them. The tallest I have ever worn in 2.5" and they weren't stiletto.
Question is, do I suck it up and wear them so I don't ruffle any feathers or propose a similar style to the bride?
Her style is in the pic below and I already own a pair of peep toe black heels (with a much shorter heel and no platform), so they are fairly similar.

Oh no! I hope she feels better. I'd definitely just tell them you'll log in from home rather than pose it as a question.

Are the dresses long? If so I'd definitely ask if wearing something you already own is ok. If it's short I'd still ask.
Everyday this week I've woken up thinking it's a day later. I really wanted today to be Friday. It's a busy week around here and a lot of people are cranky.
I'm usually a pretty easy-going person at work - but several people have pissed me off this week. I may need a vacation.

DD came home from daycare recently with an arm to Mr. Potato head down her shirt. Ultimate hoarder.

Yeah, can't hurt to ask, but be prepared that she may say no if she's really set on matching. FWIW, I think it's stupid for bridesmaids to have to all wear the same shoes.

I have an $80 paif of ugly ass gold shoes that I will never wear again because my bff wanted them for her bridesmaids. I begged her for any color other than gold. nope. She also borrowed my dress so she could rewear it to a formal night on a cruise. I am pretty sure cruises and weddings are the only place her dresses would work. so ugly.

Hey, at least it got worn more than once, right?! I've never re-used a bridesmaid dress. Meanwhile, I do have a very cute pair of dressy gold sandals (at least, I thought they were very cute...)
I've reused almost all of my old bridesmaids dresses! mostly for Halloween, but that's still reusing it! 2 years ago I wore one and went as a prom queen...made myself a cool sash and put on my nieces tiara. :-)
Last year I had full intentions of going as a flower and rewearing the orange mess from last summer, but it was around 30 degrees outside and that was just not happening.
