Dilation and Effacing - Week of May 12 Check In

I got checked yesterday at 34w3d since he was already down there doing the strep swab (and didn't give me any warning before doing the check). Everything is closed up but he said he could feel LO's head. I'll deny any more unless there is a reason for it.

Went today. At 36week 3days. I'm not dilated in the slightest, but "very soft"
( I guess the primrose is at least doing something... )

Not counting on much progress, never had any with either DD or DS

I'm a little pissy, at my last apt I was 3cm and tonight is a full moon and everyone and their dogs have been saying that I am going to have this baby today and I'm just not feeling it! Unless labor hits hard and fast everyone was WRONG! Dang it!!!

At my 35w app I was 2cm but Dr said he won't check again until 39 weeks which is weird to me BC I was checked every week from 35 til labor with my last two babies. Its nice to just know whats going on down there but then again Im fine not getting checked. I'm only 37w so I'm fine just waiting till LO decides she wants to come.

This is why I am declining all checks.  I was a few cm dilated for a few weeks before I gave birth to my DD.

I didn't asked to be checked but dr checked me when she was down there doing the strep test yesterday. 3-4cm with "the head right there" at 36w 4d. I know that all really means nothing though. I just know if this boy hasn't made his own arrival by May 30th, he will be exited at 12pm . I'll be 39 weeks on the 30th, and DD came 2weeks early, so it's possible I won't even make it until then, but the countdown is on

36 w 1 day- still 2 cm dialated and 80% effaced. No change from last week which is a good thing! Let this baby cook more! But the head has dropped and is ready to go!

Last week's appointment at 36+2.. I was 3cm and 100% effaced. Doctor was reluctant to make an appointment for this week cause he said he doubted I'd make it to this week. Yea.. Still pregnant so we'll see if there's any progress at my appointment tomorrow. I now know they mean absolutely nothing but I've gotten used to knowing everything that's going on w/ my cervix this pregnancy.. So I've just gotta know.

Same as last week - nothing. Still closed, high and tight. 37 weeks here.

Ive gotten checked at my last 3 appts and went from 1/20%, 2/30% and today 3/50% w bloody show (37w5d).  My only real wanting to know progress is that I know I will be getting induced at some point soon and have been told the more effaced you are the less painful breaking your water will be. Anyone else heard that?

I was closed but soft & thin at 36+2 weeks. I have an induction date set for June 2nd and wouldn't mind if I got to start my induction already dilated 2-3 cms.

Had apt today at 37+4 and still a 3. Baby's head is so low that she had some trouble checking me and says that I prolly won't get checked again until my contractions get stronger and I am in the hospital. They are worse but not close enough together

I am 36w6d and got checked yesterday and was 70% effaced and 2cm dilated. I also lost my mucous plug today so I guess that means things are progressing. My doctor said the baby's head is nice and low!

I just left the doctor and last week I was closed tight! This week I am less than a cm dilated and 50% effaced. I think he said I'm a +2 station which means the baby's head is really low.

No progress from last week...womp womp.  Looks like I will make this wedding tomorrow though!  Woot!

Got checked today. 35w 3d. No dilation but 50% effaced and dr could feel baby's head bouncing off my cervix.

I have had pretty strong contractions this week and major pain in my back..my stomach is as hard as a rock but baby girl continues to move so my mom ( miss L&D rn) told me not to worry until she is no longer moving and of course how many contractions in an hour....my question though, i was curious to see if there were other ways to tell if you are dilated. It seems like a stupid question but I do not have an appt until next friday, had to cancel today's, and I didn't know if there were other ways of knowing without actually checking. I am going on 35 weeks, high risk - I'm the girl that no dr's can decide on delivery- my mother went a month early with both me and my brother and so far our pregnancies have been almost identical so I am just mentally prepping myself.
