December 2014 Moms

How long did you TTC?

Just wanted to see how long you ladies tried for your December bundle of joy? My husband and I tried for about 8 months.

  • With my DD it took six months of hitting the mark each month (temping and opks). With my last three pregnancies I got pregnant the first month we tried, but I have had two miscarriages and then this baby.

First month "trying"! We were both surprised it happened so fast, but I had just had surgery for endometriosis in Feb, so I know that worked in out favor :)
  • 11 months
  • Tried for a little over 2 years and was 7 months on clomid and got pregnant.

For my DS I was on bcp. He was a beautiful surprise! For these two, it took us 10 years, more surgeries than I can count on one hand, more than a year on clomid, multiple failed iui's, and two IVF's with a failed FET in between the two fresh cycles. All paid for in cash. Dave Ram.sey would be proud :)  You ladies are quite lucky!

About a year and a half with two miscarriages.

ETA: @kaylnn12 I didn't see you had posted basically the same thing. How odd is that. I'm sorry for your losses but congrats on being here!

  • 6 years, 7 months. We tried on & off, every single "off" time I just knew I would get pregnant. I started charting again last July and found out that I wasn't ovulating, March was the first time I o'd & we just got super lucky!

  • It took us about 3 cycles. On the last cycle we used an ovulation kit and that worked like a charm for us.

It took us 8 months with DS and 7 months with this little bean. I charted the second time because I thought it would make TTC less stressful, although it made me overanalyze every.single.thing.

  • It took us about 14 months to get here. Our loss was at the 6 month mark. The month we got pregnant we decided to cool it on the TTC and focus on getting healthy....and bam! Of course it happened that way...
  • thankfully, only one month.  I suspect future kids will take longer.
  • DD took 7 cycles. This baby took 4 cycles.

  • I was pumping 5-10 ounces of breast milk a day on top of exclusively breast feeding my dd, I stopped pumping for one month and BAM! I don't know if it was just coincidence but it happen pretty fast with both babies.
  • With DS we were NTNP. This one I got my IUD out last June, waited a month, tried for a couple months, stopped trying for a couple months , started trying in Jan and then it took 4 cycles.

  • 1st attempt with #1... two cycles with this one- I think the first month was an anovulatory cycle. I was/am still BFing #1

  • With DD, it was our first cycle trying (second cycle charting). When we decided to start trying this time, it took two months, got KU, then miscarried at 6 weeks. It took another 2 full cycles to get pregnant again, so 6 months total for this peanut.

Took two (or maybe three) months (no charting) with DD, and over 10 months (9 charting 1 not) for this baby. We had just decided to stop trying when we hit the year mark and just not try but not prevent and let nature takes its course.

First month not trying to avoid. Who woulda thought it'd happen this quick? Definitely not us.

  • I've been off BC for 3 years- the entire first year I didn't have a period at all. I went to tons of doctors to try to figure out what was going on. When they finally came back they were SUPER sporadic for about a year so timing ovulation was all but impossible. My dr speculates I wasn't Oing at all. Finally started clomid in November 2013 and got pg on the 4th round, right when we were about to move to IUI. So in short... A freakin long time!!!

  • With Both my pregnancies it happen as soon as we stopped preventing. After reading this thread I feel very lucky.

  • It took us about 5 days. I'm very lucky that I went to the OB to see if I had a cyst on my cervix. I didn't, but on the ultrasound he said "oh you either ovulated today or yesterday" so I got homework.... I've always been really good at completing assignments ;) lol but in all seriousness it happened so quickly it was a huge shock. We feel extremely lucky. I'm so glad all of you are here :)

For this one and dd, it was both on the first try. I always have long cycles (3 months, sometimes 6), so both times I wasn't expecting to get a positive 2 weeks later.
