Half hour naps

Has anyone managed to break the 30 minute nap habit? I know it means he is waking up after one sleep cycle, but I don't know how to get him to stay asleep through it. Any advice is welcome!

For us 30 min usually meant overtired. 45 min meant waking up after one sleep cycle. Although we have now joined the no nap club and she is constantly overtired.

We are also 30 minutes twice a day! It's annoying because it's hard to get anything done, but I try not to complain too loudly because she sleeps great at night. I'd rather have it this way than the other way around!

Ha ha, I am 100% sure it is a total fluke, but apparently I just needed to post about it! After weeks of 30 minute naps, he just slept for 2 hours!!

20-30 mins is the norm for me too. It's really frustrating. When my MIL watches him or he's home with DH he sleeps 2-3 hours for them, so apparently its me.

DS took 30min naps 95% of the time from 8 weeks to 9 months. I know everybody says put them down at the first signs of sleepiness otherwise they'll be overtired. The ONLY way he will sleep longer then 30min is if he gets past his second wind. He'll yawn and rub his eyes, but then play for another hour and a half before he's truly ready for a nap. Since we figured that out he takes 1-2 hours naps. He's just an anomaly I guess. Good luck, I know how bad that sucks
