What places have you traveled to in the US/world? Do you want to go back? Where is your next vacation destination and what's your dream vacation destination?
mmm...i travel a lot.
hawaii - big island, oahu, maui california - SF, east bay, sac, napa, LA, SD (as well as driving through) nevada - las vegas, reno arizona - phoenix oregon - portland texas - dallas, san antonio louisiana - new orleans south carolina - charleston new york - new york city nj - atlantic city pennsylvania - philadelphia florida - miami, orlando
tahiti - tahiti, morrea, raiatea, taha'a, bora bora caribbean - st. thomas, st maarten, haiti, bahamas mexico - pureto vallarta, TJ thailand - bangkok, pattaya china - shanghai, beijing taiwan - taipei
i think that's it.......doesn't include stop-overs or drive-throughs (got lost and drove through deleware).
i want to go back to most those places...the ones i have no interest in returning to are: phoenix (unless @nryan55 invites me), san antonio, reno, those specific islands in the caribbean (open to others), thailand.
my next vacation on the books is napa valley, for a wedding...but we might go to socal and las vegas before then..
dream vacation that i might never go on, is african safari.
i didn't date a whole lot, since my ex i started dating when i was 17-20, and 3 weeks later i started dating my hub...
but during those 3 weeks, i went to a party and made out with 2 best friends in the same night.....i didn't realize they were best friends that would share their stories the next day.
Were you always "crunchy" or is this something that evolved after becoming a mother?
i was always a little crunchy..but having a kid (cloth diapers) made it increase exponentially.
i always used reusable, conserved resources, and recycled, but after starting cloth diapers, i made my own detergent and realized how easy it was so everything just took off from there.
^putting crunchy in quotes makes me feel like this...
i'm crunchy in that i make most my cleaning supplies, recycle like it's my job, use reusable almost-everything. except toilet paper and tampons, i want a diva cup (sorry, that's a dirty word sometimes here, right?), but i'm a habitual costco-shopper, and i have a lifetime supply of tampons to go through.
i'm not crunchy when it comes to convenience.. i'll buy things from "regular" stores without always going the local route. i would say i purchase 75% conventional, 25% local / co-op.
What's your favorite book that was made into a movie?
I feel really dumb saying this but I don't read very many books. I have read a lot of Nicholas sparks books though, and those are basically all movies.
I always think of you being one of the wealthiest mom on the board.... What's the most expensive thing you have ever bought (house and car not included)?
Hah, I'm not wealthy, I just live in HCOL area so everything seems more expensive.
I would probably say my engagement ring or vacations were most expensive, but if that doesn't count, then maybe a tv?? Or my washer and dryer? I don't spend a lot of money on "stuff", I like to travel with my money.
After reading your travel history, did you go to Philadelphia for work?
Out of the places you've been before, if you were only allowed to go back to one of them for every vacation for the rest of your life, where would it be? Why?
No, my moms BFF lived in Philadelphia.
If I could only go to one, I'd say the big island of Hawaii. I would've picked borabora, but it's way to pricey on that island.
Is there one thing you must have to eat or drink everyday?
Just water. I drink a LOT of water. I carry a 48oz jug with me everywhere I go. If I forget it, I have mini panic attacks. (I drink about 150oz a day).
This last 4th of July, we had recently moved into an established neighborhood, so we invited all the neighbors over for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun and we want to do that every year now.
If you didn't have any empty spaghetti jars, what other container would you use to store your breast milk?
Lol, well I normally put them in bags, since I donate regularly, but the last few weeks my nephew has been staying with us so I pumped in bottles instead. (And gave him milk instead of my friends baby). I could've used bags, but those are one-time use, so I grabbed jars instead.
What is one physical & one personality trait that you hope your kids get from you? (Can be different for each kid)
physically, i hope my son gets my good looks, and not his dads . personality wise, i hope both my kids get my drive/persistence/dedication. for my daughter, i hope she physically gets..... my boobs. lol.
farmer's markets. i don't go to pike place often, because it's super busy..but i love having local farmers and artists all in the same place in all the neighborhoods outside of downtown.
What scares you the most between a hurricane, earthquake, tornado, sinkhole, or volcano?
earthquake.
edit: but i'm really not all that scared, even though they say seattle is due for a "big one"....if it's gonna happen, it's going to happen. i don't want to live in fear.
