First weekly appointment today. She gave me the option of an internal exam, but I passed. They havent ever meant much for me in the past.
I had my GBS test, third tri HIV test, and am currently hooked up to the NST machine because of the decrease in movements I've been feeling lately. Baby girl has never been a huge mover, but lately it's decreased even more. I'm sure it's fine, but love that my doctor's being thorough and I should get some peace of mind.
Update: NST was good, Baby is just laid back, I guess!
Had a NST at 10am. It went good. My BP was a little high but Dr wasn't worried. I also got the GBS test and my first cervical check. Nothings happening with that though.
had my regular 34 week check up. everything normal -- Dr. felt around and thinks she is head-down. I have the strep test in 2 weeks and my final thyroid labs, then after that I go in every week. crazy!
35 weeks, and I had an ultrasound today. It was great to see the baby - like, he really looks like a person! They estimated that he already weighs 7 lbs, but of course that's to be taken with a grain of salt (especially since I go to a teaching hospital and had a resident who was very inexperienced, but also nice and genuinely excited about getting all the measurements and seeing all the stuff).
We discussed induction, and at their practice, 2nd time moms who had a vaginal delivery with the 1st can choose to go when they want after 39 weeks. All of our family lives over 1,000 miles away, and someone's going to be flying out to watch our DD, so we're trying to schedule it all. My SIL is delivering her 1st about 4 days before with her husband stationed in Afghanistan, so we're trying to make sure everyone gets the support they need.
OB appointment and sonogram this morning. OB appointment went well doctor said everything looked good and we'll have 1 more biweekly appointment then we'll start weekly appointments!:) Sonogram went really well too and we actually got to see her face. The tech also said she could see hair:)
My NST went well, no need for the buzzer today! I did have several contractions during it so my MFM just said to drink water, relax (if only that was possible), and keep an eye on them. I've been having them since Saturday, I'm not overly concerned, either was he, thankfully.
Had my 36 week apt today, everything is great. I had GBS test and cervical check- 1 cm dilated. I go back in 2 weeks because doc said baby and I are doing great. Happy and grateful.
Just got back from my appointment little miss is head down and loooooow 1cm dialated and we get an ultrasound on Tuesday to see how big she is. So excited can't wait.
I had the GSB test and my first cervical check. Only maybe a fingertip dilated. I have to have an ultrasound again next week though to check size again. I had one a few weeks ago and it seriously stressed me out beforehand. Now, I have to go through it again. It's great to see her, but makes me so worried that something is wrong.
Appointments are getting really exciting(?) these last few visits. At my last appt on Tue my MFM doc said my fluids were on the low side of normal and that at my next appt 5/13 if they continued to drop he would admit me to L&D and induce. Today I got more clarification from my OB that said my fluid level was 8 and not to be concerned unless it more drops next week. But, it could climb back up to 14 where it was the week before. However, if it drops below 5 we may have to do a c-section So I guess i'm prepared to have this LO on Tue vaginally or otherwise. Or not if numbers go back to normal?!? Im not super concerned, just paranoid at this point. Anyone else having fluid fluctuation convo's with their docs??
Had my weekly midwife appointment today, found out I'm GBS+ (boo!) and my fundal height has only increased 1 cm in the last 3 weeks. She said if I'm still measuring small next week she'll order an US to check on LO. Fingers crossed for a growth spurt!
@ktcort13 DD1 was head down but very high until she came out. My labor was short and sweet and I only pushed 3 times. Don't be too worried if your LO doesn't "move down". I remember freaking out about it for weeks lol.
35 week appointment, just finished. Got my group B strep test and my weekly fluid level u/s. Results aren't great - LO's fluid is still on the very lowest end of acceptable. My exercise has been halved and I now have to spend twenty minutes on my side three times a day. If we can't get the fluid levels up, I'm looking at induction at 37 or 38 weeks. Boo! Below is how I feel today.
Hope things get better. Do you know what your fluid number was?
I have always been lower. Now I get mine daily and am in L&D until delivery with preeclampsia. However we went from 7,10,7,10,7,7,7 and today 12. I was scared cuz it was high. Lol it's weird that they do that. They tell me to drink more.
@mom&nurse & @kaysa2 my ob said today that fluctuating fluids is caused by the placenta getting 'worn out' towards the end of pregnancy, and that it had nothing to do with dehydration. But keep chugging that water regardless!! 5 was the magic number she gave me to be worried, so if you ladies stay in the 7-8 range (like I am too) I think we're good for a little while longer:) thinking of you ladies, t&p's!!
@izzetoot - My MD never said anything about dehydration, actually. My numbers have been consistently falling since 32 weeks and we're just trying to get them to stabilize. She suspects more complications from the SUA (which is well documented), and that because of how quickly my body builds muscle, the amount of exercise I do each day may have my body bypassing the placenta and going straight to my muscles. Hence the exercise restriction.
Of course I will certainly continue to hydrate well anyway, since it certainly can't hurt!
Its great they are keeping such a careful eye on you, I hope it gives you some comfort and reassurance. Im impressed you are still working out! Ive been trying to walk everyday for about 20 mins (far cry from my 3.5mile runs) and get winded so easily. Cant wait to get back into the gym, i'm sure you feel the same way Hang in there mama!
