RP: first follistim monitoring today- thoughts?

I was on 125iu of Follistim for 4 nights. Went in today and had 8 measurable follicles at 11, 9, 9, 11, 8, 6, 9, 10. My E2 was 750. They decided to drop the follistim to 75iu and I go back on Wednesday. Can some follicles just stop growing with the drop in follistim or does this sound like the cycle will get canceled? I definitely do not want to take any chances!

I think the drop in follistim is a good sign that your body is responding better/faster than they anticipated. For me, I started at 75iu and was dropped to 25iu at one point because my estrogen was getting too high and I had too much going on. I can't imagine they're even thinking of cancelling after only 4 days and 8 measureable follicles!

But yes, it is definitely possible that some will stop growing OR that the growth of the smaller ones will slow significantly enough that they won't be mature by the time you would get to IUI. My nurse had said that typically, when they get to 12, they'll keep growing on their own, but if they're smaller than that, there is a chance that they'll stop growing and just say that size (or move really slowly. I had some small ones that grew 1mm every 3 days when we lowered my dosage).

My clinic doesn't measure anything under 10. So they would have told me, for example, that I had two good follicles (the two 11s) based on your numbers. But some of those could catch up- maybe that 10 also? What is your personal cut off number? Or your doctors?
