I am far from new to The Knot family of sites, but have never been brave enough to join in on The Bump- so here goes nothing!
I found out the I had aggressive PCOS seven years ago when I was 19. It was not a big deal to me then as I was a sophomore in college and nothing was further from my mind than TTC, In 2011 I married my college sweetheart- which is ironic because we met after I went on an official dating ban. He grew on me and was persistent and in a years time we were married. We did not want to try for the first year or two we were married and I was okay with that because in the back of my mind I knew what I would have to face when we were ready. A year ago we started with "not preventing" but were not putting an effort into trying. After nothing happening for six months (and a diagnoses of PCOS) I knew it was time to become more aggressive. After a check up I also discovered them I have hypothyroidism, so I had to take a few months off to regulate that.
We were given the go ahead three months ago, then allowed to start Clomid. I am currently in my first cycle of Clomid after two cycles of BBT monitoring. This cycle has behaved like a dream (O'd on day 20, all physical symptoms were present) so fingers are crossed, but I am forcing myself to keep my hope in check. My doctor is only going to allow me three cycles before trying something new so I am really hoping this works!
For me, even joining a support forum is a big step. I don't like needing support or encouragement, but with this process I can't deny that I need it! I have looked over all the rules and such for this group, but if I step out of line let me know! I don't want to add discouragement for anyone on this journey!

ALL WELCOME -
Welcome! It's so romantic that you married your college sweetheart after he was so insistent. Very sweet!!
I also was hoping you are getting monitoring (bloodwork and/or ultrasounds) throughout your cycle to check your response to Clomid. Since each month on Clomid can have effects like causing large cysts (that can act like birth control by creating estrogen) or thinning the uterine lining (which makes implantation tough). It's also hard to know if the dosage needs to be upped (could waste a month not knowing if a follie is developing), or lowered (without monitoring you could end up ovulating way more eggs than you would want to fertilize)! Sorry if that's stuff you already know.
Glad you got the hypothyroidism regulated, that's great news. I hope your stay here is short and sweet.
