My UO.. I despise baby clothes with cartoons, characters, sayings, cutesey animals/monkeys/elephants giraffes etc. ... 100% despise them. I'm Learning this is an expensive choice as it seems all/most clothes out here have some form of the above mentioned on them. I'm a very VERY simple gal in the way I dress but it seems my only out for my baby in terms of the above is dressing him in solids or baby gap/Gymboree/Carter's little man outfits Etc. -- which I'll splurge on any day before I give in to buying a monkey outfit.
FYI Carter's has everything you hate on a lot of their clothes. There are some without but most with. I don't like cutest says, so I'm so there with you. I don't mind the cute animals though
I have a feeling this is a HUGE UO, and not sure if we can post about politics on here, but I'm gonna say it: I think our president is doing a horrible job, and one day (maybe 30-40 years from now) he'll go down in history as one of the worst presidents the United States has ever had.

You're right -- A LOT of Carter's seems to have some sort if characters but i find them most tolerable. Definitely default to baby gap and Gymboree .. since targets selection of "normal" baby boy clothes is awful.

I also hate "babyish" clothes, my favourite place to get clothes for DS is H&M. I like dressing him like a stylish little dude!
Yessssss!!!! Let's totes talk politics! We get along way too well anyway!
Bahaha! Stir things up a bit? We can also do circumcision or vaccination those are always a hoot! I not being sarcastic, I for some reason love the drama that follows those two topics XD
Speaking of Chick-Fil-A, does everyone have the cheese sauce for their waffle fries? We have it here and one time on the drive back from NC we asked for it and they had no idea what we were talking about.
I hate talking politics with most people because most people are ignorant about anything they don't agree with. But who knows -- maybe some of you are really supposed to be on my post it!

So I live in Maryland and my local chick-fila does not have it but the one an hour away, still in MD has it? Really annoying. I love it. They should allllll have it.

My DH and I never talk politics except to each other. Never. I won't even do it here. But I will totes listen to others do it.

I'm not 100% either way. DS has a lot of striped and colorblock shirts. He also has shirts with characters, but I'm picky about what the characters are.
Characters I buy: generic animals not-to-cutesey (mostly frogs, lizards, turtles, sharks, dogs), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Batman
Characters I don't buy: cutesy teddy-bear style bears and other animals, Mickey Mouse & friends, Pooh & friends
I agree about characters on kids clothes. Most of them are pretty cheaply made anyway. Old Navy is inexpensive, cute and simple. I also don't like or eat Chik-fil-A. Not because it's bad, because it's run by a bunch of bigoted homophobes.
My UO is that i think Obama is too conservative/centrist, same w Hillary C. This comes from my experience working with city government and my skepticism toward many govt policies, particularly those having to do with urban revitalization. Although I like Obama on a personal level and I've had a sex dream about him, and DH was disturbed when I told him haha. I also respect the beliefs of **some** Republicans though obviously I am not one. But not GDub, Romney or any of those.
Sorry, I am interested in this stuff. Lord willing, that will be my only political statement on this board.

Totally agree! It's like, when he brings something to the republicans, he's already tried to figure out the compromise. So he comes in with the compromise, republicans label his centrist policies (which are very similar to Reagan's) as "socialist" and pull to the right, which has led the country further to the right.
I wish he'd be more like FDR. I love reading FDR's speeches.
I knew my post about Obama was the minority, hence it being an UO. I also know that no matter what is said from either side, it's not going to change anyone's mind or beliefs, but instead, just piss off a lot of already hormonally charged pregnant women. That can't be good. Haha
Hormone statements and accusations often not well received on the TB and rightfully so! My political opinions are the same regardless of pregnancy status. While I disagree w you, i have no problem w your opinion and appreciate you sharing.

There's a great article in the March (I think) issue of Harper's about just this and how the country has pulled to the right since the election of Reagan. Great, but depressing read.
If we're diving into politics, my UO is that I think Republicans and Democrats are not all that different. (Talking about the politicians in Washington.) I'm personally getting fed up with both of them, most of them act like spoiled children. And I hate when every time I vote I go in not feeling like any candidate is "good" and rather I just need to pick who I think will screw things up a little less than the other guy. I tend to have more Libertarian views, so I'm always voting against half my beliefs. I just wish a candidate I shared more than half my views with would have a chance at getting elected.

I'm with you on hillary Clinton but here is why.... I don't necessarily agree with her views however I am a believer that our president makes .02% of the decisions that are made for this country. Anyone running for office promise the world during elections, then get into office and are told "ha ha ha no you can't do that, this is what you will be doing. " I think because Hillary has been there to see this happen, we can trust she is going to do the things she says she is going to do.

I live in the South and have never heard of this!
Cheese?? Really??
Yup! It's a creamy (fake I'm sure) cheese sauce you dip the waffle fries in. Pretty tasty.
I dislike frozen. Very much so.
I also do not allow my daughter to wear any advertisements like sponge bob or Disney etc... Clothing.
@lisaren I teach voice and piano lessons and I can't get away from the frozen songs lol. So even though I liked it at first, now I hate it. I always allow them to pick a song they want to do (within reason) and then I pick one. 9 times out of 10 it's frozen. Even for the piano students. OY!
N14 October Siggy Challenge: How I feel in the third trimester (especially when DH eats my pregnancy food)
BUST. I missed the political talk. I would like to add that I hate, hate, hate when people talk politics on FB or post dumb gifs and shit to their timeline. I'm sorry, but your FB post will not change my mind and it just clutters up my news feed.

Sorry to keep this thread alive, (especially since tomorrow is when the next UO will start), but @abbyful I'm kinda freaking out because I tend towards libertarian too, and usually when I say that no one knows what I'm even talking about! I feel your voting pain.

That's all I have to say about that.
