I have two EcoPosh.  I'm going to take my own advice and hold on to them a bit longer just in case the prefold/doubler stops working for us.  But if we don't need them by the time he turns 2 I'll probably get rid of them.

UO: It's May in Texas.  I don't care if it was in the 50's when you woke up today.  It's going to get up to the 80's today.  It's not okay to wear suede, fur lined boots.
you don't all just wear cowboy boots in texas?
Only on days I ride my horse to work, y'all.  And I had to quit riding my horse to work at 36 weeks.  Just too jostley.
I'm totally imagining you with a huge preggo belly and jangly spurs.
If only I did regular bump pics.  I would totally do that.  It would be hilarious and adorable.

@CLLDLL‌ OMG I love rain too. I love all forms of water, but as a kid you absolutely couldn't keep me inside on a rainy day. If I were at daycare or someplace that wouldn't let me go outside, I would just sit in the window and stare at it. I'm in a down funk today and the rainy weather here is helping. It feels like a hug.

  • I hate door to door salespeople. Especially when I open the door wide enough to point to the toddler sleeping in his stroller and tell them this is not a good time, and they aggressively and loudly proceed with their pitch. And I especially hate it when they are selling fresh produce boxes, because while I'm sure their product is excellent, we have an awesome cheeseshop, butcher, and green grocer on the corner less than 50 yards away, who have wonderful food and whom we love to support.

  • My husband gets excited to talk to the Mormons or whoever comes by. It drives me nuts since now some are coming back for followup and he isn't home. He is agnostic, and his goal is to collect the various religious texts. Let's just say, some missionaries hand them out more than others. He really had to work for the Mormon one.

I was expecting a delivery. And I'm too nice to just slam the door in someone's face, so I feel like I should at least give them an explanation as to why I don't want to talk to them.

Goes back to my days working on political campaigns. I know how hard it is to knock on doors. Even in supposedly friendly territory.

Sometimes I just want to play hookie from life and not tell anyone.  Like just not go to work and ride out to the beach, eat fried clams, go shopping, take a nap, go see a movie, and then maybe go home and be like, yea work was fine.
I know a co-worker whose husband did that for months. He got fired and she had no idea!

Omg the name thing. I hated naming my dogs, much less my children. We haven't even mentioned names yet, and for the life of me I can only remember one of the several names that we liked (we had boy/girl short lists and picked for sure when she was born) for A.
Whoa, somehow I missed your BFP! Congrats!

As for the whole naming thing... MIL (Who supposedly came for a week, but has apparently moved in with us for the next two months... is currently waiting for me to go into labour... and is already planning our summer vacation time) has 'named' our unborn 'girl' (who is actually a boy, but we haven't told anyone)  She wants another granddaughter.  She refers to the baby as the name she has picked out.

She did this with our first as well... prior to us even conceiving.  For our wedding, instead of a guestbook, we did envelopes for people to write messages for us to read each year on our anniversary.  She wrote in the first one about "baby Rebecca" who we are anxiously awaiting.

    a) What if we had just spent the year TTC and were unsuccessful?  How upsetting would that have been to open an envelope with that message?

    b) Isn't it up to DH and I to name our children?

She asked if we had names picked out today, and I told her that we did, but weren't telling anyone because we didn't want to hear any opinions about it.

  • Early fffc. I opened the door once with my boob hanging out to sign for a ups package. It was my breast pump and desperately needed. I don't remember why dh couldn't answer the door.....

    Bare boob?
  • Yup. I may have tried to cover up a bit with the baby, but I think they still got a nice show.

@tjkdhb Your MIL sounds a lot like my MIL.  She also referred to G as "she" for months even though we were team green.  With D we made the mistake of telling her what our boy and girl names were before he was born.  She informed us they were "unacceptable" names for the ______ family tree.

Ummm ok MIL, guess we'll see our way out of your family tree.

MIL actually introduced herself to me when DH and I were dating as "Hi, I'm -----.  So you're the one who is going to give me my granddaughter".  I think "Rebecca" had already been named by that point.  (FWIW - we did NOT choose the name Rebecca)

I'm starting to think that she wants to be a third parent.

I know she's just excited... but with all my pregnancy hormones it's really hard to keep my mouth shut.
