Alyssa. I may be wrong, but doesn't part of the name come from the flower or the plant sweet alyssum? So that would be the correct spelling, I think. I would just pronounce it just like it looks. I know some people do use "A-leesa" though.

My name is Alissa. I get "A-leesa" or "A-leesha" all of the time, not sure why people add the "H" to the last one. I'm pretty sure people are used to seeing it as Alyssa.
I like Alyssa. ?I also think that is the typical spelling of the name. ?Unless you name your daughter Mary, someone, somewhere down the line will pronounce it incorrectly?.

My name is also Alissa. My parents went with this spelling because Alissa looks better with my maiden name than Alyssa.
Alyssa is obviously more common, and I always have to correct the spelling or pronunication of my name, but Alissa is not an incorrect spelling by any means. The two spellings have different origins and meanings.
Re: Alyssa or Alissa???
Ditto.
I'd say Alyssa, because that's what people are used to seeing.
I would never think to pronounce that "A-lees-a." That really wouldn't make sense with the two "s"s.

BTW, great name choice!!
I like Alyssa, we are also thinking about this name if we have a girl.

I love Alyssa because to me, it just looks better, AND it is the more common spelling.
