If your LO sleeps in a RNP at night

Do you just set them in there and strap them in or do you swaddle them? The last few days LO has been napping in her RNP during the day. She finishes eating, conks out, and I just set her in there and tuck a blanket over her legs. I right there next to her and have an eye on her so I am not worried about the blanket in there.

At night I have been swaddling her after feedings and then putting her in the napper of her PNP. She did great the first night, but she fights the swaddle so it takes forever to calm her after, and last night I had her in the miracle blanket and she was trying so hard to break free. In a regular blanket she gets her hands loose and wakes herself that way.

So I am thinking about using the RNP at night instead but I'm not sure what to do about the blanket/swaddle situation. If I swaddle her I can't strap her in.

The SwaddleMe brand swaddles have holes in the back that you can thread the leg strap through. It allows baby to be strapped in and also swaddled.

I tuck a blanket around her lower half and don't strap her in. She's less than two weeks old, she's not going anywhere.

@maelic - that's kind of what I was thinking. She can sleep in there for 2 hours during the day and barely moves so she should be fine.

We don't strap him in and we just tuck the blanket around him. He doesn't care to be swaddled- especially with his arms swaddled.

Swaddled with no strap. She does like to move but I highly doubt she will get anywhere when swaddled

No straps.  Baby gets swaddled in a blanket, or is in a sleep sack.

Swaddled and then just put her down. No straps. She sleeps without moving when she's in her RNP. She absolutely loves it.

Swaddled in a sleepsack or other Velcro swaddle thingy (that's the technical term) no straps. I also put a folded blanket at the bottom so he sits a little higher so his chin doesn't tuck into his chest.

I guess I'm the only one that straps her in! I didn't one night, and then I was paranoid about her slowly slumping down past the point of where the restraint would allow. It made me think she would be at a weird angle and wouldn't be able to breathe as easily, just like how they say you shouldn't let your baby sleep in a car seat for too long. So I strap her in and tuck a blanket around her lower half since she, too, doesn't like her arms restricted.

I swaddle him under his armpits basically for the feeling of security he hates his arms swaddled. I fold a blanket on his lower half and he just wears a long sleeve onesie underneath

Swaddle, no strap, blanket tucked around legs. I don't think the strap does anything until they can roll.

Swaddle, no straps, blanket over lower half. They only sleep in there when they won't go down in the crib.

I do a legs out swaddle and strap my twins in. The swaddle me brand allows for a "legs out swaddle". I had no idea until I googled it.

Whoa this is awesome, we use those and I had no idea you could do that. Diaper changes at night just got way easier
