My mother is being "helpful" and I appreciate it. But she cannot stop pushing this one thing. To me NaProTechnology looks like charting, temping, and many of the things we do now. Is there something I'm missing? Can someone here explain what this is to me and help me get a better understanding. Please.

Re: NaProTechnology anyone?
***ticker warning***
I ended up at a "RE" thanks to a referral from my family practice OB/GYN. This "RE" was a NaProTechnologies OB/GYN. They believe in using hormones and medicines that are as close to natural as possible, but they don't believe in any type of assisted reproduction. For me, I wasn't willing to go to a Doctor that wasn't willing to even consider that IVF or IUI were a better option. I also don't have any religious concerns with those practices either.
Like PP said, for unexplained IF or issues with ovulation, they can do pretty much the same thing, but for more complex issues you're better off somewhere else.
Oh...and be prepared to chart their way. You're not supposed to take temps and you base everything off of CM. It seemed a little silly to me. The doc had said she would work with me charting the "other" way, but highly suggested that I use the Creighton method that they endorse for best results.
She isn't anymore. She's been Baptist now for several years. But she's more religious now then ever. I'm a very liberal Catholic IMO. I believe in God, the saints, miracles, science, and evolution. I don't judge others beliefs and love to learn about them. All this and I'm still a practicing Catholic.
If only you could be a fly on the wall. I'm guessing it's going to be a frustrating, emotional, heated mess of a conversation. And my mother is Cecilian so it'll be passionate too.
I do not believe that one method of diagnosis and treatment is good for everyone. Everyone and every couple is different. So treatment needs to vary from person to person. Some journeys start with NaPro, others end with it, and some never use it.
She is afraid of the fertility meds, the HSG that caused me pain, can't understand why I had my cervix dilated, she is wary of doctors not based in religion. I validated her fears and told her how good our experience has been so far. How good our doctors have been so far. And any good doctor won't let a woman have a litter of kids. And she's completely against IUI and IVF.
