Random, Vents, and AWs

Random: my boss just sent me an email, and said "reference the LO attachment". I kept rereading it thinking, why is she telling me to look at little one attachment. What the hell does that mean? I was seriously getting angry, because I couldn't figure out what she was talking about. Then it hit me, LO are her initials. She was telling me to reference the document she edited. OK, yeah, I need sleep, and probably to step away from my computer for a minute.

  • E hasn't used her swing in a couple of weeks. It's been a toy collector in the living room. I brought the pnp out, with the intention of putting the swing away and setting the pnp up, but it breaks my heart to put the swing away because that's another part of E's babyhood that she's growing out of. :(

  • @ayanahazel1‌ - what a cutie!
@nnikki10‌ - do you live in so cal? How did I miss that?

I don't have much today except our house has now been on the market 30 days without selling. We are dropping the price again this week. I knew we were priced high but we had a great offer that first week, and then they found something else and pulled out. Now... Nothing. Supposedly this is a hot market.. Where are our buyers???
  • @kwrecks‌ maybe try one of the at home workouts until you can figure out a system? I know it's not the same As physically leaving and having that time to yourself, but I always feel so much better even after a few mins of sweating in my living room lol.

@MommyKristin88‌ I found myself texting DH with abbreviations from here and didn't understand for a min why he was so confused!

VENT: apparently my dad had a mini stroke last week and was told if he doesn't changed his life style he is on the road to have a major stroke that could threaten his life. Even though he sounded genuinely scared I don't think he will actually change. He is set in his ways. We have been telling him for years that he is killing himself. All I can do is encourage him to do better but my heart tells me it won't help. Hopefully I'm very wrong.

  • @MyBaby2013 I'm sorry to hear about your dad. :( I can't even imagine how scared and helpless you must feel. Hopefully your dad will see it as a wake up call and adjust his lifestyle to help his health. Maybe sit down and talk to him about how you want him around to see LO grow up and maybe someday get married and have kids. Maybe that will be a wakeup call for him? Good luck <3

  • Another Random: @WildRumpus did you make those carrot cake cheesecake squares? They were freaking amazing and I got a ton of compliments. Thank you for the link!

Also, how the freak did you get them out of the pan? I made two batches and I destroyed half of the first one (still tasted amazing!). But I had to cut them out of the pan on the second one and ruined my cake pan. I seriously bake banana bread and cupcakes. That's about it, so this was new to me.

I "like it" for your comment to me, not about your dad.

I hope your dad changes his habits, so he can have a long, healthy life ahead of him.

  • I guess this is a random: I've been slowly weaning LO from nursing. She's been drinking formula gradually more and more for about 2 months now. Yesterday was the first complete day that I did not nurse LO. It was really bittersweet. She takes the bottle so well and it didn't even phase her. She even grabs and holds the bottle herself now. I'm very proud of her and glad to make the transition.

Side note: my boobs hurt so bad last night. The pain is better today, but not great.

  • Random:  What is the consensus of A13 on Honey Graham crackers?  Are they safe or not?  We don't see the doc till the middle of May and all the literature I can find on it is conflicting. My mom bought LO some Organic Honey Teddy Grahams and she said she was fine if I didn't want to give it to him, but I just don't want to be over thinking this.

  • @MommyBolty‌ can I ask why you are weaning? No judgement just curious to people's reasons and timing.
  • @janneann1127‌ we are in so cal you too?? How'd I miss that haha
  • @KQuinonez My sister gave all three of her kids the honey flavored Teddy Grahams before a year. They were all fine. None of them have any food allergies.

I also just read this: "Commercial foods that contain honey, like ready-to-eat breakfast cereals and baby food, are safe for your baby because they've been heated enough to kill the spores." But that was on Baby Center and I haven't looked TOO much into it.

On a side note, she was giving me crap about giving J eggs before a year. She was surprised that our doctor okayed it at our 6 month appointment.

  • @TrueBeliever925‌ it is awesome. We cannot wait for this coming Christmas with both of them.
  • Thanks Ladies! I probably won't give him too many because it is mostly sugar, but it will be a nice treat for him.  I wish I was more relaxed but things that involve food or carseats make me seem overprotective.

Sure! The weaning started when I just wasn't producing as much anymore, and having trouble pumping enough throughout the day to keep up with her demands. So at 6 months we did nursing when I was around and and formulas/bm bottles. Then slowly reduced the amount of pumping sessions I was doing at work until I got to where I wasn't pumping at all. Then only morning and nighttime nursing sessions. Then last week she wasn't getting full at either nursing session so I decided it was time to totally wean. I nursed her over the weekend in the morning, and she was pretty grumpy because she didn't get full. I didn't want to send her to daycare like that when they have a pretty set routine with feeding her every 3 hours.

  • @MommyBolty‌ I'm slowly weaning too. It's freeing and very sad at the same time.
  • Total aw: we are leaving for our first big family vacation tomorrow! We are heading to Miami for a few days and then cruising the Caribbean! I went absolutely crazy buying nautical theme stuff for lo. This Canadian winter has been too damn long!

    How exciting!!
Please give an update when you're back from the cruise. We are thinking about taking one & wondering how lo would do.

Yes! You put it perfectly. I have this feeling of...I have my "old" self back. But...Also sad at the same time. Like...she doesn't need me. which is totally dumb, because she does. But still... It's strange for sure!

We are getting to this point to. My supply, especially when pumping, has been dropping off. Right now we are doing 1-2 bottles of formula and I still pump and nurse, but might be dropping the pumping soon.
  • I am dealing with the possible decision to stop BF too....My pumping has dropped so much in the last few weeks, and I am noticing her not getting satisfied when feeding. I am debating dropping pumping and just doing morning and night feeds, and off and on when I am with her and she wants the comfort...I am so torn....I really wanted to make it a year

  • You guys are making me sad thinking about weaning. :((  My supply is still strong and we will probably start weaning between 12 and 13 months, but I am not ready for that.  I love how he plays with my hair when he is nursing and touches my face.  That feeling can't end. DH reminds me that he hopefully won't be the only baby I nurse but I have loved it so much.  Now I am crying...at work...while pumping.
