Fundal height measuring small!

So I'm just a little worried. Had my 34 week checkup and I'm measuring about 31 1/2- 32 cm for my fundal height. My OB is sending me for an ultrasound next week to make sure LO is growing appropriately. I just hope everything will be ok. I'm sure she is. Just keeping positive.

I was measuring 2 weeks small between 28-34 weeks, but LO is now only 1 week behind. Some of us just carry small babies.

I started to measure small a little while ago, it was the first indication that things might not be going as they should. At my most recent growth scan it showed that baby went from the 53% down to the 17% in four weeks. They are keeping a close eye on me and we are prepared to have this baby come out at 37 weeks or sooner if need be.

I really hope your ultrasound goes well, and no intervention is needed.

I measured small too and ultrasound showed no problems. Hope all goes well.

I measured 2 weeks behind and still ended up with a 8 lb. 7 oz. baby boy

Your measurement is within the margin of error for fundal height measurements. Practitioners usually are not concerned about individual measurements that are a little off. They are looking at a general pattern of growth. I wouldn't worry.

PPs also make good points that the way you are carrying can make a difference. Also, if you've been having the measurements done by a different person each time (I do. Teaching hospital = always a new resident), that can change things. Everyone does it a little differently.

I measure small. I had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and baby is head down and looks right on track growth wise. With women and babies of so many body types, we aren't always going to measure the same. Try not to worry!

I hope your ultrasound goes well. I went in for my 36 week appointment and measured 2 1/2 weeks behind. Earlier today I went in for the ultrasound and turns out baby was head down and measuring within a healthy range. The doctor had scared me with the additional ultrasound but it was very reasurring to see my baby boy and be able to ask more questions.
