Cramping after IUI ?

We had our second IUI this morning and the cramping/pressure on both my left and right sides is horrible right now ..... I did not experience this last time and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this ?

No, but I did read somewhere that if you were to just shoot straight up semen into your uterus without it being washed it would hurt and cramp. That is why they wash it. Maybe you are feeling a little sensitive to that this time? Or maybe there are some gas bubbles in there if that is possible? Also, are you on meds? maybe you are feeling the eggs being released. Im not sure just some guesses.

I was on 50mg clomid days 3-7 , injection of150mg bravelle day 9 (this was 75mg last cycle) and trigger shot of ovidrel on day 11. Maybe it's just the higher dose of meds?

This is only my first cycle of IUI ....and I have to say I'm a little concerned that I DON'T have any symptoms!  I'm d4piui ...shouldn't I be feeling SOMETHING if anything was going on in there (cramping because of the egg being released, implantation cramps)??  It's probably my mind working overtime.   

But I've read many women describe feeling pretty crampy after the IUI.  I would just take some tylenol to ease the pain and figure that it's probably normal.  FX for you!

I definitely had some cramping the day of and after the IUI.  I think it was three days before I felt no cramping.   It never got worse than needing Tylenol though.  If you are worried, or it gets worse than what Tylenol can handle, I'd give your doc a call just to make sure all is ok.  FX for you!

I've had 4 IUIs, sometimes I cramp, sometimes Don't...it's a crapshoot and so strange that it never feels the same, but it just never feels the same. Good luck!

Cramping is totally normal. I have had 5 IUIs and have had cramping, bloating and pain with all. Some worse than others. A friend said that the trigger shot can force strong ovulation, which could cause pain. If it lasts more than a day or two, then you might want to call and check to see if that is still ok.

@EastBayBride508‌ - You're more likely to feel nothing than something, even if there was fertilization and if implantation happens. I always keep in mind that women who get pregnant on their own usually don't know they are pregnant until they miss their period. So, most don't really feel anything. 4dpiui is definitely too early to feel anything.

Thanks ladies !! I took some Tylenol once I got home from work and that seems to be helping but holy crap did they hurt this afternoon .... I work part time as a nanny and was at the movies this afternoon with the kids i take care of and could not sit still it was so bad the youngest kept asking me if I had to go to the bathroom I was moving around so much (

I had cramping for quite sometime post IUI. Then it transitioned into tenderness.... Good luck!

I definitely had cramping a few hours after the IUI.  It only lasted a few hours and I was completely fine the next day. My nurse had warned me I might have some cramping and I'm glad she did otherwise I would have been nervous too! I think it's totally normal, as with all of this stuff every person reacts differently.

I have only ever really been crampy after IUI once and a different nurse once explained it was probably because they hit the side and I need to mention that.
