Confused about due date

Do they ever adjust our due dates? Everything I read says full term for twins is 37weeks not 40 but my due date is still set for 40weeks. To add to my confusion so far they have been measuring a week ahead. Just don't want to think I have all this extra time when I really don't.

I'm in same boat. My singleton pregnancies were all premies at 32 weeks and now w twins I'm worried when I might give birth.

No your due date will stay 40 weeks. Average for twins to arrive is 36w, however, many make to their due dates.

My water broke at 36w and I was measuring 46w.

I have a spinoff question to this. My doctor won't let me go past 38 weeks so even though my due date is October 15th, it should really be October 2nd. I really don't care about the technicality except that my insurance said they will not send out the free breast pump until 2 weeks before my due date. How do I get around this? Or should I just rent a breast pump for the first month to be safe?

Your dr should be able to write a script saying you have a twin pregnancy and the 38 week due date of October 2. They should accept this.

For us our EDD hasn't changed, the hospital will use it to calculate the babies' GA when they come. We are just expecting them early October instead of late October

Your EDD won't change. They use gestational age so just because the babies will likely come before 40 weeks it still makes them say 37 weeks gestational age. I was due Nov 7th but I told people they will be here mid Oct. I was always measuring 5 weeks ahead.

Ditto everyone else. Your due date will always be the 40w date. My singleton was born at 37w and while no one thought I'd get that far, my end date was 38-39w and then 37w after some complications arose.

I was due Aug 7, but always gave people a vague "late July" answer and it satisfied just about everyone. I got into details if anyone had follow up questions.

My water broke at 34w - end of June, so it really didn't matter one way or another.

Ditto everyone else. Your EDD is 40 weeks from LMP (or other date if you've done fertility treatment). My EDD is may 13, it is based on my LMP and my IUI date (which happened to be 14 days after LMP exactly. But I have a C/S scheduled for 4/29 - 38 weeks on the nose. My doctor signed me out for my state's disability insurance at 34 weeks, in my state you are considered disabled 4 weeks prior to your EDD, she had to make an exception so I could still get my 4 weeks, otherwise I'd still be working until Tuesday which she and I both knew I couldn't do in my job (which is fairly high stress and on my feet a fair amount in court). 

I tell people I'm due at the end of April. It is extremely common to measure ahead. I am measuring 42 weeks right now, 7 weeks ahead, which my OB said is good for this late in the pregnancy.

The EDD stays the same. Average time for them to arrive is 35-36 weeks, like PPs said. For me, they'll be evicted around 37 weeks, so I just tell people I'm due in July since my EDD is July 24th but I'll be 37 weeks July 3rd.

We just had our first U/S and found out we're having triplets.  Their EDD is still 40 weeks even though the likelihood of them making it that long is basically zero.

Like everyone said your due date is 40w, twins are estimated to come early but do not have to come early.  My girls were born at 40w0d on their due date.  I measured 57 weeks at delivery.  You fundal height measurement is no indication of when you will deliver.
