Baby Boy Name

edited April 2014 in Baby Names
I think we're down to two. We haven't thought much on middle names. We've been trying out both (calling baby each name for a week or so at a time) and still haven't decided. We have a few months, so we're not in a hurry, but I thought I'd see what others thought here. :-)  Our last name is Polish...ends with a "ski".

Re: Baby Boy Name

  • Any suggestions?  Though Caeden is not my style, Aurora was the name we had picked if our little one was a girl!  :-)

  • I'm half Polish and we were considering Teofil for a boy since it's an old family name, nickname Teo.  We pronounce it "TAY-o-fill" in my family, but behind the name says the real polish way to say it is "tay-AW-feel."

Aleksander, Sebastian, Damian, Leopold, Julian, Adrian, Dawid, Daniel, Oliver/Oliwier, Edward. I can go on. These are all Polish names that are legit and translate well into English. I can't bring myself to vote for neither of your names, sorry.

Dade sounds weird and Stach reminds me of mustache. Although it is not pronounced the same it will still be people's first thought.

  • I know a Stach so I'm familiar with it. I guess that's what I would lean toward but I can't say that I really like it.

  • I'm not a fan of either. I like the Polish connection of Stach, but I agree that there are so many better Polish names.

  • I am sorry, I cannot vote for either of those. Stach makes me think you named them after the whole mustache craze, and Dade..

  • I'm sorry, I really dislike both.. just not my thing.  But I voted Dade. Though it reminds me of Miami, I prefer it over the other.

I actually had dade on the list briefly for ds but chucked it because I envisioned "hi I'm dade....Dave?....no dade with a d....hi Dave!"

Stach I just can't get behind.

  • If you want my opinion, i do not like either, but i voted for Dade. It honestly sounds more of a middle name to me for someone who couldn't come up with one.

    It's a BOY!!
  • I voted Dade because I have a nephew with that name. It suits him well, so I like it. I don't care for your other name option as much.
  • I don't really care for either.  Dade could be kinda nice, but Stach would constantly sound bad and get mispronounced.

  • I don't like either name, I couldn't vote.
  • I agree with PP that Stash isn't the best Polish name ever... I didn't vote, but if I did Stash would have a slight edge over Dade.  Dade doesn't sound like a real name to me.
