Pregnant after IF

nervous wreck and PIO itch

Hi everyone. Thanks again for the warm welcome yesterday. My beta isn't until Monday, so I've been poas like a mad woman. This morning's stick was not darker than yesterday afternoons--only the same amount of dark. That has me freaking out because this is where things went south with my chemical pregnancy from my first IVF. I'm 8dp5dt.

Also, I've finally gotten to the itchy stage of the PIO injections. Help! I've found methods of dealing with the pain and soreness, but the itch is just making me nuts! Any tips?

  • ThoseThreeWords. I know I should put down the pee sticks, but realistically, I probably won't be able to. I took a nice long walk at lunch, and that seemed to help calm some of the freakout, which is good, since I know freaking out doesn't do me one bit of good.

chrissynena, I'm glad I'm not alone with the itch. Between the bloat and the itch, I don't think I can wear jeans this weekend. I'm regretting today's jeans a lot!

  • A warm washcloth or heating pad while rubbing helps with the itch/soreness for me.  Hydrocortisone cream could also help if it's driving you nuts! :)

  • I also have the PIO itchies! It is horrible. No advice, just thought I would tell you I share your pain on that.

I too had an issue with peeing on sticks, so bad that I went did my beta draw... Drove to cvs bought more pee stick... Drove to work... Peed on said pee sticks... Waited for call from nurse with beta results.. So I get that too! I am really not much help to you at all. ;)

  • I agree with the others - step away from the sticks!

As far as the itch.. This may sound weird and I feel funny even typing it, BUT when I would take a shower, I would make the water pretty hot and take the shower head and put it right over the most itchy spots. It would initially get a little itchier but then would start to get less itchy, but I'd still just let the hot water hit it. Literally, I probably let the hot water hit the itchy spots for 2-3 minutes. I found that when I got out of the shower, the itchiness usually subsided until the next shot.
