Call with a period. Start clomid on day 3, 4 or 5. The trigger shot. In 2 days have IUI. Then 4 to 5 days after start progesterone.
I'm not entirely thrilled with the lady I talked to. She seemed a little annoyed with my questions. Oh well, not gonna let her get me down. Anyways, I asked her if the donor needed to be CMV negative and she didn't seem to know what I was talking about. She did end up saying they needed to be IMG negative which I guess is the same thing.
I also asked how many vials I needed to order and she said just one. She said that I didn't want to have to have storage in 2 places. I don't plan on storing at the bank so I don't know why she said that. But I've read sometimes the vials are duds. And some doctors inseminate twice. I wonder if they even test it. They better because if it IS a dud, I want a refund.
Question. She said I could order unwashed and they could wash there for $60. The difference at the bank is $115. So I would save a little that way. Does it make a difference whether it is washed before or after freezing?

Re: Game plan for IUI with DS...sound OK to you?
Hope this helps
You may be aware of this, but generally speaking there will be a range of possible days on which you will trigger based on how quickly your eggs mature on clomid. Some people respond more slowly. So they might bring you back and so an ultrasound and find that your egg(s) is/are not mature yet and then be brought back a couple days later.
The research supports ovulation for most people 36 hours after the trigger shot. So if your clinic normally administers the trigger shot at the clinic, it may be worth asking whether you can do the trigger shot at home. We would always trigger in the evening at home and then come in two days (36 hours) later.
As for how much and what sperm to order, there is the possibility that something will be wrong with that vial (it got dropped or soemthing) but this is a small possibility. That said, if you're paying shipping on each vial it may be worth buying a few at a time. While I hope you get pregnant on this IUI, it often takes more than one.
Finally as for washed/unwashed--I'm not an expert. Our clinic automatically washed the sperm before an IUI to make sure that any sperm that hadn't survived the freeze and thaw and any slow swimmers got separated out. I think this is a good process. Since the donor we were getting only had washed samples, ours were getting double washed. I think this is not ideal. So, not being an expert at all, id lean toward getting the unwashed and having te clinic wash it.
Good luck!
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
1st ultrasound (3/6 6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.
***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

My RE is over 2 hours away so hopefully I can do U/S at my OBs office. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll do my trigger shot for me too!
I didn't know that about the washing at the clinic. Definitely sounds like a better way to go. Not sure what I will do about how many to order. Sounds like they only want one so I guess I'll do that and see what happens. I'll be pretty peeved if something happens and I waste a cycle though. Ugh, there's just so much to think about.
Thanks for your response. So nice to hear from someone who's been there
Good luck!
