I nominate my apartment's crappy washing machine. When we first moved in, literally like 2 days here, I did a load of laundry, and the washing machine flooded the hallway. I opened the lid, and although the cycle was finished, it never drained. I called maintenance, and they came and fixed it….two months later and my hallway is flooded again. I still have laundry to do, and I can't do it.
Also the other day I found a pool of liquid on the kitchen floor. I looked up and saw a streak running down the wall from the air vent. Soooo I guess something leaked from the vent too? It hasn't happened again, and I have no idea what it was.

lbonga1 I can tell you with 99% accuracy, there is a sock or pair of panties or foam bra liner (like from swim suit) stuck in the drain hose. Or any combination thereof. Sucks, but it isn't the washer's fault for choking on cloth - the little bastard articles just escape the tub sometimes in old and new style machines. I had to start washing my little stuff in a mesh bag to prevent such incidents.
Same. I have to wear panty hose or knee socks to work... I just wash them in the bathroom sink because they got stuck too many times.
I suppose that could be the case from the previous occupant, and if so you would think the maintenance people would have fixed it the first time. But, maybe tmi, I don't wear panties, it's warm enough here to wear sandals without socks, and I haven't gone swimming since last summer. Thanks for the input though!
