@KrystaJ‌ why the f would she even save the foreskin??! And why would you want it?! Gross! I wonder what goes through her mind with stuff like that..

@hubbs173‌ glad you are feeling better!

My bitch for today is that my bro keeps talking crap to my mom (who then tells me) about the name my husband and I picked for our daughter! It like really bothers him. More than it should. I get that his ex had a similar sounding name and she is a crazy bitch but still. It's a different name. That relationship was over ten years ago and only lasted a few months. Grow up and get over it. I'm not changing it. You are in your 30s now. If anything, you get a new association with the name. ESP since ds can't say the full name but what he says sounds a lot like the ex's name and if ds is still calling her that when she is born, so be it, that will end up being her nick name.

Bitch #2- what happened to my backbone? I used to have one. Now I am a softy mush.

  • @lpetrillo  Wait, your brother, now in his thirties, dated a girl for a couple of months ten years ago and objects to a name that sounds kind of like hers?  Is he always that dramatic?  DH wanted to name LO my ex's name (a reasonably common, gender neutral name), knows he's my ex, and saw nothing wrong or strange about that (although I did).

  • My baby shower is this weekend and we are having a BBQ in my backyard.  I have a small house and only invited 50 ppl, assuming about half would show, and EVERYONE rsvp'd.  So we wanted to make it a BBQ so we could utilize both indoors and outdoors so we're not so cramped.  Guess what the weather will be? Rain!! 70% chance of thunderstorms, not even just a drizzle.  And its a sunny 76 degrees both the day before and after.  Im screwed.

@Temurlang1‌ yep- that's right! He hasn't said anything to me, but I can tell it eats at him by his facial expression whenever the name is said. It's also a pretty common traditional name. My mom just told me today how he was having a fit about it and was all like "I can't believe they are naming her that, this is terrible" etc. I told her that I'm not changing it he just has to get over it. H and I had this name picked out since we were in high school.

I am just waiting for the day he says something to my face about it.

  • Oh my goodness @hubbs173!! Glad to hear you're recovering!

My bitch is the pity/guilt trip that hubby says he DOESN'T put on me when he talks about not getting any.

Dude, it hurts to walk, get in and out of seats and bed and you expect a sympathy f*ck?! Not going to happen.

  • @lpetrillo 8-| big eyeroll for immature brothers!  If/when he does say something, you could tell him he obviously needs to date more.

@Lindsleigh77 WHAT AN ASS HAT!!  I would be so pissed but I love your response to him.  Everyday you see him from now on just glare at him to make him scared of you and maybe he'll shrivel away into extinction.

  • I looked in the mirror today. My stomach looks like the world globe, and with the amount of stretch marks, I could draw every country of the world. :(

  • @Rachel5130‌, I just said this last night to a friend!!! I mean, do people think we don't know? I'm from a family of 8. I know that the third trimester is challenging. No fucking shit Sherlock. Ahhh that felt good.

I am sick of people telling me the pregnancy is about to take a turn for the worst, and that having a newborn sucks so badly. How about you let me find out for myself? Don't make this a self-fulfilling prophecy with your bullshit spoiler alerts.

My younger sister bailed on my shower yesterday and pretended her baby was sick and lied to my Dad about taking her baby to the ER. She's trying to get his attention and sympathy because her fiancé can't afford to pay for the rehearsal dinner and she wants my dad to pay. She's been lying about him working too. She then posted about the baby all over Facebook to garner attention and told me via text she wasn't coming.

She is not sick. There was no ER visit. She just couldn't handle that the attention was not on her so she uses her baby as a pawn.

She didn't even call me before or after the shower and nothing today but more attention seeking, passive aggressive posts. (Yes, yes my sister does show signs of Munchausen by Proxy).

I hosted her shower in December because no one else offered besides my older sister, however, my younger sister didn't like her venue choice and had a temper tantrum and said no.

(Ps- this is also the same sister who picked my due date as her wedding date and didn't see an issue with it. Luckily the venue was booked).

    This is the short version.

Edit: For clarification, typing is hard after a 14-hour day.

  • @hubbs173‌ Good gracious!!! Glad you and Henry are ok and doing better.

@LoHerrim‌ I am sooo sorry, that's incredibly stressful. Yipe!

All I have to do is fire one of our employees tomorrow. In perspective, now, maybe that's not so bad...

I'm a whiner baby but I don't care. I'm pregnant, sick, in pain, emotional, and broke. Lol is it Friday yet? I think I need a refund on my Monday. Now if only I could find my receipt...

Not whiny. That's a lot for anyone to deal with. Being pregnant and having to deal with it makes it so much worse! I think it's pretty amazing you're keeping your dog! I know too many people who wouldn't take care of a pet with health problems. Hope your dog takes well to the insulin and gets feeling better!
  • @LoHerrim‌ I am so sorry you are dealing with all of these stressful circumstances! That really sucks. I hope that you can get Rosie's health in check!

  • So my bestie (need to clarify she's also my cousin) just had a preemie last month (little guy was 4 weeks early) and was in and out of the hospital this week because of constant gallbladder attacks. As she's waiting for surgery and can't sleep we've been skyping pretty frequently.
Since her LO was born it's been rough. When she wasn't sick she was feeding him every 2-3 hours (standard). Bringing him in for check ups. Basically being an awesome mom.
So she tells me that she asked her DH to take one of the night feedings every couple of days so she can get a stretch of sleep. He said no. Let me be clear he doesn't have an intense job or anything. She was asking that he take either  a late night feed or the 11pm. He said he wouldn't take the late night feed because it wasn't fair to interrupt his sleep. I guess he finally caved and took the 11 pm feed. While her mom and sister both came to help while she was in the hospital. I know he's helped with other stuff. But if I had to push my husband to help with caring for our preemie while being in and out of the hospital, he would regret it. Her sister told me today that he didn't come home until 10pm the other night, because he went to the bar with his pals. He didn't call to say he'd be out or anything and no one could reach him. Wife in the hospital worried about where he is. I just wish I could fly there and tune him a new one. What an immature Dbag.  It's funny because they are all really opinionated. I thought that they would say something. But nobody wants to because they don't want to hurt her. It's times like these that I regret living so far away.
  • @joules235‌, yes I meant Munchausen by Proxy. I work in mental health and know the difference between the two. I should've clarified since it wasn't obvious which one I was referring to in my post.

Well I thought I had a shitty day until I read Hubbs post. So glad you're ok @Hubbs173!! This was my day (keep in mind I'm on bed rest): DS woke up Sunday with a lump behind his ear that was painful. Sunday, my beloved 12 yr old red heeler Rosie was super lethargic and not herself. So I decided I'd take them both in today to be checked out. Got them in the car to go this morning (Rosie usually gets car sick so I put blankets everywhere). Stopped to grab breakfast @ jack in the box drive thru. They got my order wrong so I had to go inside to fix it. This took almost 15 minutes. Hit every. Single. Red. Light. On the way to the drs (one TWICE!!). Walked in JUST in time for DS's appt to a line out the door for registering. Almost missed his appt time but luckily the receptionist had watched me walk in on time. DS has a swollen lymph node gland for no apparent reason & it'll go away on it's own. Visit was $66. Drove to the vet (hitting every red light) and got my Rosie in. $425 later, found out my girl has severe type 1 diabetes and needs insulin shots twice a day every day until she dies, and special food. Between the insulin and the needles ALONE is going to cost me $150 a month. The food is $40 a bag (20lbs). I have to sell my horse because I cannot afford to feed her AND give Rosie the care she needs. I've been in tears all day. I LOVE my horse. But it's not fair to her I keep her knowing I can't feed her properly. And being on bed rest I can't ride her either. I won't have time to ride her for a few months after LO is born either. It's the responsible thing to do, but I hate it. Also, just as a topper, my tooth is hurting again and causing my sinuses to freak the eff out. I get to have that pulled on Wednesday. ($130) On top of THAT, H was BBQing a whole chicken last night and it caught fire. The BBQ is right outside MILs window. The heat broke the window. ($200). If you've been adding up, the last few days have cost me a lot. And I'm contracting from stress. Thanks for reading my bitch. I'd give you a cookie but I can't afford it. Sorry.
I'm very sorry that you're going through all of this!

But the insulin/needles probably aren't going to cost quite as much as you think. My cat had diabetes for the last 5 years of his life with 2x insulin shots/day. The bottle of insulin was $110 a pop, but the amount you give them is so small compared to a human that it lasts a couple of months at least. And the box of syringes is only about $10 for 100. We used each one twice before tossing them (vet said it was fine) and just left the syringe in the box with the insulin in the fridge between shots - that was also our identifier to help us make sure he'd "been shot" that day. As far as food, talk to your vet, but you might not have to switch to a medicated food immediately. I would try moving to a lower-kilocalorie wet food first. It's the carbs in dry food that really eff with the glucose. Your vet should be able to calculate the kilocalories from the nutrition info on the label.
