I don't have a uo, but I have a confession. I secretly giggle every time my friend says how much they spend on diapers. Mainly because her dh wanted to cloth diaper and she gave me every excuse on they why couldn't. Including their rental house doesn't have a washer. I pointed her in the direction of a portable washer (which would save them money on their regular clothes as well), and that they could resell the washer when they move in a few months. She was visiting this past weekend and her lo peed on 3 diapers within on diaper change. If she lived closer (she lives an hour away), I'd offer to lend her some of my stash and do the laundry for her. Mostly cause then I'd have an excuse to buy all the diapers.
Oh, I guess here is an UO.
No one on my fb has mentioned the incident on Fort Hood. Yet the same people on the holidays go I support the troops and thank you for this. And post about other small things. So I posted a quick Prayers and thoughts post today.
@yellowlily, I currently store mine under our dinning room table. Dh is gone all the time and so it's not really being used for eating. It's pushed up against the wall anyways, so perfect for not tripping over the thing.
Yes blondie! AWful is further west than that right? I hate how people jump on the band wagon for holidays, but a tragedy like this goes unmentioned. And if it is PTSD, what are we going to do, as a nation, about this? It's not okay. They need help, they deserve help. Big hugs to everyone affected.

That makes sense, especially if your house is setup and the dining room is near the entrance/exit. (Like my parents house). Ours isn't. AND our dining room table is glass. So it'd still annoy me. I really want a nice wooden table. someday someday....
Thanks @blondolphn !! I'm biased, but M is he cutest kid around
My UO- if you smoke, you should not be allowed near children, or to have children. I want to punch every parent I see smoking near their kid. Shame on you
@mandmeesh, it was yellowlily that said you have a cutie. But you really do.
Also, I agree about the smoking. Two of my friends have had miscarriages or other pregnancy complications that could be related to their smoking habits. Another one of my dh's friends was born with a small lung problem, oh and the mother is smoking again.
We were at an outdoor shopping area and there are tons of kids and I was wearing ds. And had no idea how to get away from those fing smokers. Ugh. It was such a pain.
Sure smoke outside of a bar at 10pm but please don't smoke near Carter's Saturday at noon. That's just not fair.
I hate infant carseats. HATE. Where do you put them at your house? Mine is sitting on the fire place...
If we have another kid I hope to go straight to a convertible... but maybe not since we have this stupid seat.
Most of the time it's in the car. DS is still within all the limits of it, but the only time I lug it out with him in it is if he is sleeping. If it is inside, it's next to his PNP that's near the door to the garage.
I personally love it. DS used to be able to transfer with no problem and stay asleep. And then at some point it just stopped. It sucked.
If Cade wasn't a winter baby I wouldn't of done a infant seat at all. We rarely took it out of the car and we baby wear wherever we go. So it was kind of a waste of money.
I always keep it in the car. I just don't see the poin to take it out of the car. If my baby is sleeping I will wake him no big deal for me.
We always kept the carrier wherever the baby was, because we have 2 cars, and I did DC drop off and MH did DC pick up. So we had to have the carrier where the baby was.

It makes me ragey when TV shows have a newborn baby that is like 3 months old. Or when shows have stupid, nonsensical pregnancy stuff. Like, 'I'm ovulating, so we need to do it RIGHT NOW in the middle of the day! It can't wait!' Or showing an ultrasound at 20 weeks when the character has just found out that day that they were pregnant.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.

I think the 3 month old NB has to do with child labor and exploitation laws. But yeah, that stuff is annoying. Or when someone struggles with IF for an entire episode, then is suddenly KU with what turns out to be surprise triplets.

But what do you do when you go somewhere? If your baby is asleep and you just need to run in a store and grab something real quick do you wake them up just for the 10 min run inside? If you go to a restaurant do you hold them while you eat?
If I'm by my self yes, I will wake him, carry him and do my errand. I think that's why my kid sleep all night, I don't let them sleep to much during the day. The long naps are usually from 1pm to 3 pm. The rest of the day they are awake. If we are going out to eat I usually carry my baby. But now he will be on the strollers. That's why a love my strollers. Is very light and convenient.

Your 6mo old only naps from 1-3? I tend to think a baby STTN, especially early on, is just luck. DS started STTN at 6weeks. At 6mo I was still letting him set his own schedule for the most part, and he was still STTN.
@Chickypoo2468 ds wakes up when you get out of the car now. So that's not an issue. And he can sit in a high chair. Before that he's prefer to be held vs sitting in his carseat. And we didn't go out to eat much when he was real little. I'd prefer take out any day if I'm being lazy!
My UO is I am beginning to just think Darwinism in my head when I see stupid stuff like the 3 year old running through the middle of the mall parking lot half an hour ago (9 p dark clothes) or babies in the top of the shopping cart basket.

I'm talking about with a new baby. And then you'd have 2 to worry about.
It's easier with a new baby. More so if you nurse. You put them in a baby carrier that easy to nurse in. Then you can shop, eat at a restaurant, ect while they sleep, eat, and chill in the baby carrier. Plus being in a baby carrier as opposed to a car seat is better for their head as it's considered "tummy time".
I don;t see how they would be moving in a car seat at a restaurant. I could see the booth thing, but I don't get booths when I have the kids out. Easier for booster and high chairs.
Well we prefer booths to have room and keep everyone contained, but sometimes we get stuck in a table. I would think the opposite is true.
I don't mean they need to be in perpetual motion, I mean when I'm wearing them if I'm not moving they start bitching.
Right there with you when it comes to movement. Little man is hating his car seat/stroller in stores now but does fine in the ergo as long as I am constantly walking or jiggling if I stop moving he gets antsy and grabs at my face and kvetches
Most places we eat at have to secure boosters to a chair. I end up holding Cade when we ate anywhere anyways. He'd get hungry and need a bottle and then pass out on me. There was no escaping not holding him when we left the house. At least if I put him in a good wrap or something he'd snooze on me and give me two hands to eat with. Now he just sits in my lap and eats my food.
