I don't plan to start on it until May. I'm relishing my last few weeks of not having a baby room in our house. Because once it's there...it's there. I'm excited, but I also don't want to rush past it just being my husband and I enjoying our home.
Here is our nursery as of today. I have to finish the project with the dresser (covering the top in fabric to hide peeling paint and scratches) and order wall decor from Etsy. The rest (shelving, organization) is on my registry so that won't be purchansed and completed until Julyish
Just this past weekend we moved out the bed that was in there into our 3rd bedroom. My dad came over and painted the room for us and helped DH rip out the old carpet. We'll install flooring in about 2 weeks. After the flooring is in we'll pay off the furniture (it's on layaway at BRU since it was on clearance a few weeks ago) and start setting that up. We're Team Green to everyone (even though we know what it is) so our theme is Winnie the Pooh. Bedding is on the registry so we're hoping to get that as a gift. If not we'll purchase a set after baby is born.
You're so not behind! I didn't even think about bedding yet.
We picked the paint, and bought a wall decal. That is it. I have my eye on a crib, but no idea what to do about a changing dresser. We are also going to be moving in a month so I'm waiting for after to move to really start on organizing.
we did a Harry Potter nursery for my son, and i can't think of anything anywhere near that awesome for baby #2, so . . . i've done nothing.
@mediaperuana eeek! 8-> Do you have pictures?! I've been trying to get ideas for a HP nursery. We haven't started decorating yet though, trying to figure out how to split it with DS's superhero side of the room. Yay for small living space.
Our nursery-to-be is still the dog's bedroom. We plan on moving the puppy to the guest room or office this weekend. I won't start planning the nursery until the sex ultrasound next Wednesday.
Honestly - haven't even started or thought about it too much since baby will probably be in room with us and we have a bed from Charles. We do have to determine what room will be his/hers. After tomorrow (a/s) I will be more determined though.
It is currently our guest room / office / storage for garage sale that is taking place in early May. We won't do anything nursery related until we can clear it out after our garage sale. We did clear out the closet & organize it so it will be ready for baby stuff when we're ready.
We are currently looking for furniture & our style for the nursery - neither of which we are even close to deciding on...

Of 14 mature eggs, 10 fertilized, 4 made it to Day 5 & 1 made it to Day 6. We did PGS on the Day 5 embryos, and 3 of 4 were normal. Had ET on 11/17. Beta #1 (8dp6dt): 203. Beta #2 (10dp6dt): 618. We since had two ultrasounds & on 12/19, our RE released us to the OB. On 1/02/14, we had our first ultrasound with the OB where we heard the heartbeat. We are so thankful for the blessing & crossing every finger & toe for a healthy & successful pregnancy.
So I mentioned on here that we had a bit done and a bit more to get done...well things changed and we are buying a house. The house is move in ready...super excited about that....but the babies room needs to be repainted in the grey color we picked. So back to square one!!! MH told me last night we have time. Kinda freaking out...just want the nursery painted by the baby shower on July13th.
Now that the weather is getting nice, my hubby taped off the nursery with hopes to paint sometime this week. I'm excited to see if all put together. We have our old crib & changing table and bought a dresser & bedding we picked room colors from. Helps that our nursery was an empty room, since we moved last Summer. With my son we didn't finish the nursery till about a month before my due date since it meant my husband was losing his office (instead having to work in a spare bedroom/office) he was none to thrilled to put the room together.
Our guestroom will be our nursery. The room is staying the same color and we are leaving the curtains. I have everything picked out but we will not start moving stuff out or purchasing until the baby hits viability.
Once we found out the sex, DH family just had to know a "theme". I didn't even think of colors or a theme. I felt like I HAD to choose something, so in a day or two I picked purple (any shade really) and teal. I've since purchased: a name decal to put on her bedroom door, a huge tree decal from etsy, a wooden sign with my favorite saying from the book "love you forever" also from etsy. DH also made me make up my mind on a crib and dresser. (It's been 3 weeks looking online and in several stores and being lost with what to purchase.) but I finally decided and we purchased the crib, dresser and a glider from babies r us. The room will not be painted, as we moved in 6 weeks ago and the whole house was painted a tan color by sellers.
That's it!! I'm ready to start putting it all together!!
Nursery is pretty much done ... all that is left to do is some storage and then of course baby ! It feels good to be done because I didn't want to be waddling up the stairs in 90+ degree heat and feeling like a whale!
We have a contract on a house and will likely not move until late June or early July.. so nothing. However, the baby will sleep in our room for a few months and I have ideas of what I want to do for the new baby's room, so I am not too worried.
BFP#1 10/11/11 - DD born 6/6/12; BFP#2 7/6/13 - Due 3/8/13, MMC at 12w D&C on 8/31/13;
I don't have space for a nursery, we are in a tiny 2 bedroom with 2 kids already. We will be room sharing for a while, but I'd love to do something. Any suggestions? I'm going to recover our bassinet, but I haven't decided between yellow and gray or aqua and gray for DD2. I'm kind of at a loss what to do other than that, dumb right?
DH is building a wall-mounted changer with diaper storage, do that's taken care of. I need to find a dresser and some place to put it. I'm thinking I can carve some room in my office, but DH is going to have to build me a new desk for that to happen.
Well my DH wants to put hardwood on baby's room. We already bought the crib, choose the paint color, order the hot air balloon, and decided on a travel themed nursery. But we haven't done anything time is running out and I'm freaking out.
I feel so behind. We have the crib and dresser, but neither are put together. The baby's room is pretty empty other than the boxes holding the crib and dresser. I am usually such a planner and have things done, but things have been crazy busy for me. I'm hoping to get the ball rolling really soon.
We did the decals (6 hours worth of work!) and we just put the crib up
in the nursery 2 days ago. Everything else depends on what we get at our
showers. We are super ahead because we are anti-procrastinators I
can't wait to get hangers at the showers to hang up all the clothes!!
We have: 1. Set up crib, dresser, end table, and hutch 2. Bought mattress 3. Have linens all set up 4. Removed all the junk out of the closet
Now we are just waiting for the shower to set up or purchase more stuff. We haven't gotten a rocker yet because I have a feeling someone is getting us one- my mom asks about my rocker preferences almost every time I see her so I wouldn't be surprised if my super-skilled uncle is making one : )
I painted the door today. We replaced all interior doors in our house when we bought it in 2012 and I hadn't ever gotten around to painting that one. So glad that's done because I loathe painting doors by this point.
This thread is motivating me to get started on the nursery. I have been dragging my feet. We did just schedule a handy man to install a chair rail and paint the room pink and grey. Next up- order furniture and wall decor. We are going with a Paris theme.
We are pretty much finished except for decorating. We just finished painting yesterday then put the crib and dresser together tonight. I am so excited!!! The navy blue isn't nearly as dark as it looks in the picture.
I know we've talked a lot about nurseries so far, but I am wondering where everyone is with decorating and furnishing their nursery. I feel like I have things under control, but my mom thinks I'm running behind!
We actually bought furniture a while ago because there was a really good deal on the floor model that we couldn't pass up. After we found out we're having a boy, we finalized a theme...nautical...and I chose bedding (Pottery Barn). I've ordered the quilt because it was 1/2 off, but my parents are going to be gifting us the rest of the bedding and a really cute sailboat mobile at my shower in June. This past weekend I started looking at paint options, but that's still TBD.
The main things I have left on my to-do list are:
- Paint
- Put the crib together & clean out the current furniture...we've made room for the dresser, but we have to get rid of the bed in the nursery. We're giving it to my ILs because the current mattress in their guest room is horrible!
- Clean out the closet...it's currently full of my off-season clothes.
- Accessorize...I've been looking at lots of ideas for a few nautical accessories to add to the room, just need to make some decisions.
- Buy a rocker/glider
Where are you with your nursery? When do you plan to have everything completed?
We have made a lot of progress in the last month...
Completed - Painting, cleaned out closet, put crib together, ordered glider, have curtain rod from PB, bedding is in the crib, mobile is up and I'm about to order curtains. Just cashed in my CC points for a PB gift card, so as soon as that arrives, I'll get the curtains. I got a cute wooden crab this weekend...to go with nautical theme.
To do - Find shelves and possibly a side table for the glider. Also need some accessories and artwork. Other than that, we're ready for baby Harrison to arrive!

Off topic, but we are thinking Harrison too! Crazy!
We are probably going to be moving between now and August, and we are trying to sell our house. The realtor told us to leave the room looking like a guest bedroom, so it is easier to visualize by potential buyers. Just in case though, we did paint the room the color we want the nursery, redid the built ins to accomodate a diaper changing station, and started hanging up the new baby clothes we got (Rich neighborhood just had a community garage sale, and boy did we hit the jackpot!).
Well, I thought that we at least had a color scheme… until my husband would not stop commenting on how much he hates gray for a nursery (I wanted purple, pink, and gray). Now he apparently likes coral, so we're leaning that direction (coral and ivory mostly). He's killing me though as far as color schemes AND names go. He hates something one day then likes it the next… then back to hating it… ahhh!
We haven't gotten diddly-squat done. Well, I cleared bookshelves a few months ago, but that's it.
Since we're in a 3bd/2bth house, and our two boys are in the bedrooms (there's no WAY a 16 year old and a 12 year old will share, plus, these rooms are TINY...I freaking HATE this house), WeeNut's staying in our room for a while. So, we've designated part of our room as 'baby space'.
We're picking up the crib and changing table this weekend, so DH has to move the bookshelf and the solid wood desk out this weekend so we have space. I picked out the bedding and everything I want this weekend (just gotta buy the stuff). Picked out some cute wall decorations I want to use and all that.
Soooo, yeah...right now all the prepping we've gotten done is "Yeah, that stuff needs to move." And "Yeah, we're picking up furniture this weekend."
