Also my neighbor was Edward, his brothers were Edmund and Edwin. All I can think is they were first generation american's and there parents wanted to give them American names? Ed, Ed, and Ed...awesome.
All I can think of is Newhart where he said "This is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl." Awful!
I don't personally know too close if names, but I was thinking my potential sibset would be too close. Alistair and Isla. Too matchy right? Isla would be the one to go cause DH and I love Alistair.
My niece and nephew (husband's side, ha!) are Andrea and Andrew. Really? You couldn't think of anything else? SIL says if she had another girl, she'd name her Anastasia. But pronounced AHN-uh-STah-Shuh. For real.
Christina and Krystal. It's me and my sister. My folks used to joke that if they had a boy, they'd name him Christopher.
I actually have a friend Crystal whose siblings are Christina and Christopher. My sister also has a Christopher and Christina from two different fathers.

@actinup23 the correct Russian pronunciation of Anastasia is Ah-na-sta-SEE-yah (so 5 syllables, and fairly close to what I THINK your SIL is trying to get to.) English pron is Ah-nah-stay-sha.
But Andrea and Andrew together is ridic.

a girl I went to high school with named her twins Add.ison and Madd.ison. Also, my sister's friend and her husband both have A names so all 6 of their children have A names as well. Just bad.
My cousins did this (the A name thing) only their names started with "Br" so all 4 of their kids also had "Br" names.

Not necessarily close sounding but just strange...years ago I was a camp counselor and had triplet. Amethyst, Emerald, and Diamond. They went by Amy, Emmy, and Di.

Not sure if other people feel like these are too close, but a couple days ago I met a Liam and Mia sibset. It just seemed weird to me. Like almost all the same sounds and letters. What do you guys think? Too close?
Too close!
I think we may have broke the "similar letters" rule in our family:
Me- Erin
DH - Cai
DS - Cian
People often think we "made up" the name Cian by combining the letters of our name
I honestly like Cian. You're names fit so well as a family that if you have a 2nd his/her name might not fit as well.
I may be odd one out on this board, but I like baby names that are similar to the name(s) of parents, yet not a fan of too close sibling names.
My uncles are twins and are named Jim and Joe. I got them mixed up all the time and could only remember which was which by pairing them with their wives names.
Somewhere my Grandmother has a newspaper clipping of an announcement of her Aunt and Uncles fiftieth wedding anniversary. It was an extremely small town and some of the guests that had been invited to the party are listed, including two distant cousins (brothers) of my grandmothers. Elmer and Delmer. No. Effing. Joke.
@mrsAdventure I'm verrrry curious about where this was.
My grandpa and his sister are Morris and Doris. I think it's kind of adorable on old people though
Twins seem to be the worst offenders - here are a few pairs we met in the NICU last summer:
Jayce & Josie Shariyah & Mariyah Reese & Reagan (g/g) Kenzie & Kylee Emma & Ellie Gregory & Grace (I kind of love that pair, though)
FKA mimi4347: diaper rash magician and unofficial expert on excrement
This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
There were twins I knew in college. Christopher and Christian. But they didn't go by those names... they went by Chad and Brad (the middle names) to this day I'm not sure which nn goes with which full name.
I had a teacher in high school who told us that him and all of his siblings had names that rhymed. His name was Jerry. His brothers were Larry and Harry. His sisters were Mary and Carrie.
@NerdyLucy, I wish I could remember where it was. It's been about 15 years since I've seen the clipping. I found it while going through some old, old, old family photos for a school project in high school but I'm not sure who has the photos anymore. My Grandmother has dementia so her memory isn't stellar. It is possible that the article was from Oregon, I know that her Aunt lived here, but I am not sure if it was before or after her husband passed. Sorry I am not much help.

Thanks. It was no big deal. I'm just from a tiny town where the newspaper has no real news, so they put up little things about parties and who was there, AND I know brothers named Elmer and Delmer. I'm sure there are multiple Elmer and Delmer sibsets, but still, I had to ask. I'm not from Oregon or anywhere near that region.
Wow! That's too funny! Not sure how old your Elmer and Delmer are, but these fellas would be between 80 and 90+ If I ever do come across the clipping, I'll let you know though. Would be funny to see if they are indeed the same.
