  • No, never heard about vinegar for eczema. Wouldn't the acid sting already inflamed skin, though? But, maybe not, I'm guessing we're just talking about a tiny amount, right?
it shouldn't hurt any more than bleach. Yes, it's just a tiny bit once it's diluted by the bath. Vinegar works for some kids (it all depends on what the source of the eczema is), so it might be worth trying if you don't want to do bleach :)

Interesting. Well, I would still have this big bottle of bleach. Because I never use it for anything else.

My FFFC is that I finally went with the nuclear option of battling DS's eczema: the bleach bath. I did these a couple of times a week when DS was an infant and they helped, but I always hated the fact that I was using bleach.

Anyhoo, things have been getting steadily worse over the last month, so I decided it was time for the big guns. It's amazing. It's only 12 hours later and his skin looks way better already. I don't know why I waited so long.
How have I never heard if this? I'm doing it to myself when I get home tonight.
I can't remember where I first read about it. Maybe WebMD. If you do a Google search you should be able to find a few fairly credible articles and studies on it.

Rule of thumb is about 1/4 cu for an adult bath. Dilute proportionally for a baby -- so, if you are bathing baby in a sink or baby tub, maybe a tsp.

Ever since my kids were born she has been horribly jealous and annoying. She steals food off the table, knocks her body against the swing when DS2 is sleeping, knocks DS1 down, steals their toys, wakes them from naps, etc. Normal dog stuff, I guess, but I am getting tired of it :(

Have you looked into getting a dog behaviourist or a trainer? Those habits aren't because he's jealous. It's because he isn't getting the outlet he needs and needs training. What type of dog do you have?

Really, it depends on the breed. Most people I know who have these sorts of tendencies after having kids have high drive dogs. These are the kind of dogs that need to be given a job in order to not be annoying. After having kids the time needed to properly train, stimulate, and exercise the dog goes out the window. So they act out like this. It's not a jealousy thing, it's a lack of time/attention thing. They aren't doing bad behaviors because they are jealous, they do bad behaviors because they aren't getting what they need.

Oh and I have a FFFC! I so rarely "confess" anything because either a) I'm cool with what I did or b) I really don't want anyone to know. But today I made a special order mint chocolate cake. The cake came out fabulous, the frosting was delicious. But when I went to put the two together disaster occurred. The cake was a little more delicate than usual (in a good way) and the frosting was a little thicker (different coconut milk). So the frosting totally pulled apart the cake on one side. I'm used to dealing with delicate cakes, but everything I tried just made it worse. I didn't have time or ingredients available to make a new one so I was about to give up and give the woman a discount and hope that she wasn't too upset. But then I remembered the magical ability of nuts, etc. to cover up external flaws! So I enrobed the whole outside with cacao nibs I had left from truffle season. She thought the cake was gorgeous and just left a happy customer! I just wish I had figured that out before fiddling with it for over an hour!

I know it's tough. I have 2 kids and a corgi puppy. I try my best to keep her active and busy though. When we are lazy with her she tends to become destructive, barky, and steals the kids' food. For us it's all about stimulation. We have tons of little puzzle type toys for her, we either go for walk or get my MIL to take her for walks, we do classes often, we train daily, and I have tons of things outside like herding balls, tether tug, and agility courses. I'm not saying you have to go to my extreme, but keeping up with stimuli is super important. More so for high energy high drive breeds (like mine).

I put about 1-2 Tbs. in 3-4" of water, full sized tub. Didn't seem to bother him. He doesn't have so much open skin as rough, flaky patches. Some are red and some are not. Some tiny bumps on his torso. And by tiny, I mean light red pinpricks.

I have a boring sex and religion related confession, too. I believe M was conceived one year ago today. It's a confession because I'm Catholic and it was Good Friday, which is supposed to be a day of fasting, abstinence, and prayer. We had been TTC for some time at that point and knew I was fertile, so we disregarded religious prohibition. I'm glad we did.

@chichigo I've seriously never considered that the abstinence part should refer to sex. It refers to abstaining from meat, although I suppose sex involves some meat ;)
I used to think it included sex as well. But the definition on the catholic website specifically states abstinence from meat.

Really? I thought it was all out chocolate. Maybe that's why I think it's gross.
Most red velvet cakes taste like food dye. Mine was delicious :D
I ordered a rainbow food dye flavored cake for Mila's first birthday. . . Pretty, and everyone said the liked it, but it tasted like the coloring.

as a confession, I bought another fitted diaper today. Maybe I will postpone PT until may. . .
