Ummm, I pretty much only wear flip flops and sandals. (FL/beach girl)
I think tennis shoes (I think northerners call them something different) with pants/shorts is the ugliest "fashion". Ever.
SNEAKERS?
YES! I only wear them to run/workout in. DH's sister only wears "sneakers" with pants ALL THE TIME. #icant
When you guys says sneakers do you mean the shoes most people work out in right? What about chucks, vans, and that style of shoe? In my mind... This is okay with jeans. These are not.
I believe in better living through chemistry. I know it's popular right now to try to be as 'natural' as possible, but if there's something I can do for my baby to make him feel better, I give no fucks. Baby seems to have reflux symptoms and Zantac makes it better? Great. Baby is fussy from teething and can't sleep? Gimme the tylenol.
Yes! Thank you. I gave Jude some Tylenol while I was sitting outside with my neighbors because he was so fussy and kept gnawing on his fingers. They gave me the dirtiest looks and said.. You know there are lots of others things you can do for him for pain. You shouldn't give in so easy..
Right. My husbands going to medical school. I believe in medicine!
God forbid I allow my tiny suffering baby to enjoy the same pain relief I would use myself if I was uncomfortable. That would be "giving in" to her unreasonable demand to not be in pain. Can't have that. /:)
My UO: I don't like mint and chocolate combined. Examples: mint chocolate chip ice cream, those after dinner mints they give out at restaurants. I like mint in my toothpaste and gum and I LOVE my chocolate (but only milk, not dark).
Noo. Mint brownies are the bees knees. And mint chocolate chip ice cream. Drool.

I wear sneakers with jeans if I am wearing a comparably casual top (ie hoodie or tee shirt). Then again, I am one of those slobs that @trackgirlparis would side-eye for not dressing nicely in public

Sneakers is the broad term for both those styles, though the bottom are definitely for running. More specifically, DCs or Vans are more like skate shoes and Chucks are just chucks.
Also, the bottom shoe is acceptable to wear with jeans? I don't see why not. I would not pair them with a skinny jean but a jean with a flare, yeah, sure.
@chelseyestelle have you been to a beach? This is a honest question because I remember from "never have I ever" that you haven't done much.
I have been to the beach 38301739 times, thank you very much. I lived in Florida for a year and we go to California twice a year, Oregon once a year and random spontaneous trips to other places. I will wear sandals all day every day. You will never catch me in these...
But can you post a pic of your sandals you are so enamored with? I love flip flops but not the $1 store ones your are picturing.
Aaand one more opinion on the opinions while I'm binge posting on lunch hour. I have mixed feelings about the idea of protesting Fred Phelps's funeral. I get the not stooping to his level / hate breeds hate thing. My stance on this sort of thing is usually don't feed the trolls. Indifference is far more effective (and hurtful if that's what you're going for) than hate. In this case, though, part of me wonders if being on the receiving end of a funeral protest would help some of the family members understand how it felt for all the families they themselves hurt. Probably not, but it's nice to think it would.

I knew it'd be unpopular. People are usually shocked when I decline something like that.

And I didn't know tennis shoes with jeans was a no-no. Unless it's a nice top I guess.

I believe I have heard that they are not having a funeral for him, so I guess it's kind of a cow's opinion, at this point.
And you're wrong @petdocd! (I don't say this that often to you.) But errrrrrybody wants to know I am a University of Florida alumni! #gogators
Piggybacking on this, I love my Montana State alumni license plate frame AND window cling (::gasp::). Montana people are super friendly, so when I see them on the roads here, they always smile and wave. It's not so much for bragging rights or anything like that (that school is obviously not Ivy League); it's simply a way for me to connect with my "people".
I don't care where most of the people on the road went to school but I do get excited if I see they went to the same university as I did. The rare occasion where I see a fellow alum is a bright enough spot in my day to make up for all the other drivers from schools I don't care about
It is always interesting to me how my brother and husband, and all their doctor friends binge drink diet coke and diet Mountain Dew like it is going out of style, but totally act weirded out by people who drink real coke because sugar intake has been proven to be a factor in heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer. Yet lots of people I know who don't have science/medical backgrounds believe artificial sweeteners are poison and that real sugars are better for you, in moderation.
We obviously don't know who is "right," but I like science-based decisions, and right now, there is zero science suggesting that Splenda or aspartame cause cancer in the amounts possible to drink in a day (even by what we would consider heavy drinkers of diet beverages). Yes, theoretically everything "could" cause cancer--but when there is no even theoretical link, I am not going to quit doing something i like just "in case."
Also, the "artific sweeteners cause you to crave additional sweets" linkage be true for some people, but I have never experienced that. I often see a caffeine-free diet coke as the perfect satisfying "dessert" when I am craving something sweet. Other times I dive knee deep into dark chocolate m&ms, though, so I am clearly not trustworthy when it comes to nutrition advice

Toms, topsiders, Uggs, boots, flats... to name a few.
I am guilty of throwing on tennis shoes if I'm going to run errands or whatever though.
I saw a picture online somewhere of people "protesting" the death of Fred Phelps with signs that said "Sorry for your loss" and other condolences to fly in the face of the hateful crap he and his followers displayed at funerals, as a kill 'em with kindness sort of thing. But I have no idea if that was satire or a real event.
I occasionally have a soda for dessert (Stewart's key lime or a real root beer), but I fully believe that diet soda is death juice.
On the food note, I don't like the whole salty/sweet thing, like kettle corn, salted caramel, chocolate covered pretzels, etc.
Honey butter is like the bane of my existence. There is nothing worse than being tricked by honey butter.
Toms, topsiders, Uggs, boots, flats... to name a few. I am guilty of throwing on tennis shoes if I'm going to run errands or whatever though. ETA: quote tree messed up.
I don't like Toms and I roll my eyes at Uggs. I find it funny when people wear them where I live because our winters are usually mild. If it's 30+ outside and it hasn't snowed/iced in weeks, I don't think you need to wear Uggs.
I didn't even know what topsiders were, so I looked them up. I call those "fancy boat people" shoes. Like if you own a nice boat (like those wooden ones) and you wear polos, khakis, and a little captain's hat while on said boat, then you should be wearing topsiders. Otherwise I can't imagine people just wearing those while they run errands around town, unless you live in the Hamptons.

Kettle corn is indeed gross but @sleepy33 honey butter is the shiz man
Oh look, there is a thing in this world we disagree on!! Honey butter is an evil trick. I sit down at a restaurant, thinking I am going to be partaking in some delicious dark brown bread and butter, only to find myself eating some kind of sweet, dessert-tasting nonsense. NO SIR. Not before dinner, what am I, Willie Wonka? It ruins my whole night. #therebetternotbeanyhoneybutterwhenwegettotheWhiteHouse

I can't stand it when people complain about people not celebrating the "true meaning" of Christian holidays. The origins are PAGAN HOLIDAYS. So you're not celebrating the true meaning. Easter was Eostre, who was a fertility goddess. Hence bunnies and eggs. It's also linked to the Jewish holiday Pesach (Passover). Just like Christmas comes from Saturnalia. They are just ways Christianity was trying to bring pagans to their religion by keeping some of their holidays.
I could not care less if people celebrate Easter and Christmas to honor Jesus. Go for it. But know your history. Jesus was not their original focus. The real meaning of a holiday is incredibly individualistic. Over time, they are evolving to a more agnostic, celebratory day. I still have to work on Easter. It's not a "holy day" for me. They didn't originate as Christian holidays and they are changing to agnostic holidays. They have traditional meanings to each family that make up what they see as the true meaning of the holidays. The Christmas spirit is a beautiful thing. Easter is fun to celebrate as a welcoming spring holiday for us. They are days about having fun with family for us and that is their true meaning in our family. For another family, they are to celebrate Jesus and his birth/death/resurrection and they have their own true meaning and that's important for them.
Celebrate holidays based on your beliefs and your family traditions. But don't act like yours are the "true" and "correct" ways to celebrate them, especially since they're historically not. Love the holiday, keep your traditions, pass them on. But don't act like everyone else is just shitting on your holiday and making it about something it's not. They aren't. It's not just a Christian holiday.

1. Because we'd like to have a small beautiful ceremony without stupid people that caused drama on our first wedding day.
