Confused about Completion Certificate

I received my completion coupons from BRU and Buy Buy Baby yesterday.  Maybe I am missing something, but why was that such a big deal?  It was just 10% off BBB and 15% at BRU.  I have a million 20% off coupons from Bed Bath & Beyond that are a much better deal that I can use at Buy Buy.  I guess I was expecting a better deal (honestly I guess I didn't really read through it when I registered.)  I know anything is better than nothing, but...

You can use it on your whole purchase instead of just one item (as long as everything you are buying is on your registry), but I agree.. not that great of a deal. It's nice I think for Target and Amazon where you can't regularly get coupons.

And I'm with you on the 20% of BBB coupons being better. I think the only thing with the [lame] completion coupon is that you can use it on brands that are excluded on the 20% (UppaBaby). 

It's no big deal at all. The only good deal is the registry deal that BRU has been running and keeps extending where you will get up to $200 back on a gift card 10 weeks after baby's due date.

I just got mine yesterday from Target and Babies R Us. Each was only 10% and I could swear I received 20% off completion certificates when I had DD two years ago. I haven't received my BBB one yet but hope it's more than 10%.

It's strange that I only got a 10% off for BRU and you got one for 15% off. I was waiting for these to come in to buy a few things for DS and now I'm seriously bummed that I won't be getting better discounts.

If it's stuff I'm buying anyway (a target or amazon), then I figured why not save an extra 10 or 15% on top of it? It's not a huge amount, but for stuff you're buying either way, why not.

I don't shop at BRU, though, and we don't have BBB here, so I can't speak to those.

Yeah I agree that its not much but 20% on one item versus 10% on the whole purchase of things that I will end up buying anyway is worth something.  I know I got 10% for BBB not sure about BRU, will have to check when I get home.

Just FYI... You mentioned using your Bed,Bath and Beyond coupons at BBB, but you know you can use them at Babies R Us, right?
At Leary you can here, but they can't be expired.

My completion coupons didn't help me much. DH and I like to keep a pretty tight budget, so I never bought enough items at one time for 10% off my entire purchase to mean more than a few dollars' savings.

The only one that did me any good was the Buy Buy Baby one. I stacked it with some other coupons and ended up saving $50 or so on our travel system and a couple of other items I didn't get at my showers.

BRU called me today to let me know my coupon should be on the way. She mentioned that it would be 15% but that for some reason they send them saying 10% sometimes.

CamrynnsMommy - Definitely not too cool to save money.  Saving money is saving money and every dollar helps.  The way everyone talks about, I just assumed it at at least 20%.  I will use it, but I will use my 20% off coupons first on the big stuff.  Like my stepmom just saved $65 on the travel system with the 20%.  

AnnieA75 - I just checked when I got home to make sure I didn't make that up about the 15% at BRU.  Yep, it's 15% on my certificate.

@ stina76, I wonder how they decide who gets a 10% vs 15% completion certificate. What a bummer for me, but that's great for you!

In all fairness, I wouldn't be too excited about 10% off either. But that is only because I live in a land where the sales tax is 13%. Our BRU gives us nothing, though, so...moo point.

I got a call yesterday saying I would be getting 15%. She also told me I had time to add more stuff before it came.

I was told at both bbb and bru that I can combine the 20% or other coupons with the completion.

I think the completion coupons don't have any exclusions like the regular coupons have?
