health problems after c - section?

Curious as to any health issues anyone had experienced as a result of their c-sections. Particularly issues with gallbladder and/or severe abdominal gas pain several weeks post partum.

I an in the hospital right now waiting to have my gallbladder removed I had a really bad gallstone attack tonight and apparently what I thought was just really bad pp gas is actually something much more

Gallbladder issues are really common during and right after pregnancy. If you are concerned, call your dr. Don't wait!

My gallbladder was inflamed PP, but not to the point where they had to do anything about it. Hope everything goes well and you're back on your feet soon!

Thanks ladies. I really wish this was something that had been discussed with me by my ob. I may have had realized sonnet what was going on... I had thought I was having normal recovery gas pains until last nights attack.

If anything I hope this will help others recognize a possible issue before it becomes too painful.


Worst part is... I miss mah baby.

And now I'm worried. I've had some really intense gas pains since I had her and I've had gall bladder issues in the past.

I hope your recovery goes well and you get to go home soon! I didn't have gallbladder issues, but I did develop an abdominal abscess 2 weeks pp that I had to have surgically removed. Hang in there!
At my hospital, I was allowed to keep LO with me 24/7 so long as I had another adult there to help. My mom, MIL, and DH took turns taking shifts so LO could stay with me. It helped a lot!

Sorry to worry you. Do please pay a visit to your OB or GP to at least have it checked out. I didn't realize I was even having gall bladder related pain and there is nothing scarier than having a major attack with LO in your arms.I was lucky that it happened when H was home.

@rosebud1308 I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully you healed quickly. Sadly, my hospital isn't that cool, but he may be able to visit me a little later.

I'm in the same boat. Will be 4 weeks PP c-section on Friday & went to the ER last night for pain & it's my gallbladder. They wanted to admit me right then to have removed, but I declined to come home & pump. I am seeing the surgeon this afternoon to schedule the surgery! I am so afraid of the recovery especially since I was just starting to feel better post csection!!! I also am worried about breastfeeding. LO has never used a bottle yet & will be thrown into it during my surgery!

This happened to my friend a few years ago. She had her son 2 mos before I had mine. She came to see me after my c/s and couldn't believe how fast I was recovering when she was still having pain at 9 weeks pp. I didn't think that sounded right and pushed her to go back to the doc. Finally, her family physician put it together and sent her for testing. They took her gallbladder out and she finally started to feel much better! Good luck- I hope everything goes smooth from here!
