I had never heard of pigeon peas before, nor their synonym, gandules. #themoreyouknow
I don't think they're used outside of Latin and Caribbean cuisine.

I told my H I was going to the store and he was in charge of the baby, and then closed the door to the front room. I made a pitcher of iced tea and watched a nature show on PBS, volume on really low, so they couldn't hear me over bath water and music, heard my H bitch about me taking forever, and then when it got really quiet for a while, I went back, scooped up my nearly asleep baby and plopped her in her bed.
With DS 11 months old now (*sob*), I kick myself for a lot of things we should have handled better regarding eating and sleeping when he was much younger. Which isn't to say H isn't great- he does what he can when he can. But I missed the window of familiarizing DS with bottles and am desperately trying to get him to take to some form of sippy cup because dammit, I'm looking forward to weaning this summer.
We couldn't get Z to take bottles either and she could not figure out sippy cups for the life of her, because tipping made no fucking sense to her. It was frustrating for a while, but she eventually figured out the straw cups.
I kissed a girl [ok it was several girls] and I liked it, the taste of her cherry chapstick [I p.refer Burts Bees though].

OMG the tipping thing. FML. He'll drink out of it but just won't tip it back on his own.
Frustratingly enough, he did take to one straw cup when he was maybe 7-8 months old- and then it broke after a couple weeks when he dropped it, and I only just found the same style again a few weeks ago. Now he just chews on it.
I finally watched the Partition video and I have a lot of feelings right now.

We have been having a similar problem. He prefers drinking from an open cup, but obviously can't do that by himself. He's finally caught on to the tipping thing with his sippy cup, but he barely drinks anything and just bites and chews on the spout. He thinks it's cool liquid comes out, but he doesn't really feel the need to hydrate himself beyond a few sips. His DCP has kinda been on my ass about it, but I'm really not sure what she expects me to do. I can't force him.
@LexiLupin - I haven't tried straws yet, but I guess that'll be my next route. A lot of people who had no-bottle babies keep saying straws are the savior.
Has anyone in here watched the show Misfits? We just watched the first episode and it was strange, but we're going to give it a couple more episodes, though.
Either I can't listen for shit or my H only thinks he's been talking to me. I asked him about talking to his friend that cuts my hair, and he was like, "We talked about this already. She's coming over tomorrow at 6. You responded and everything when I told you." I don't remember that conversation even a little bit.

I hope Mischief comes back and clarifies.
