Sperm donors tested for Factor IX?

Hello, 

I'm looking for information on sperm banks who test donors for factor XI blood deficiency. So far I've only seen that this type of testing is routine for Seattle Sperm Bank and they seem to have a rather narrow donor selection. 

This info seems hard to find, so I just thought I'd pose the question here. My wife is positive for the deficiency and we're using her eggs so it's important to find a donor who isn't.

    I honestly have no idea, but in my experience sperm banks have pretty good customer service. I would just start calling them and asking.

    IVF October 2012: 22 eggs retrieved, 17 fertilized, 5 frozen
    ET #1: 1 blast = BFP; Blighted ovum discovered at 7w5d; D&E
    FET #1: 1 blast = BFP; Missed m/c discovered at 9w5d; D&E
    Karyotyping: normal ~ RPL Testing: normal ~ Hysteroscopy: normal
    FET #2: 1 blast transferred 10/25; BFP 10/31!
    EDD 7/13/14 ~ Induced at 37w4d due to pre-eclampsia ~ Born on 6/28/14

    This would be my suggestion as well. Every place is different and I feel like I've heard that extra tests CAN sometimes be run when needed. Good luck!

    Ultrasound at 18 weeks on 7/14/2014. Baby is healthy and growing just as she should!

    Thanks for the feedback. I have started calling the places and yes, they can run the tests for an extra cost of course which is almost as high as the cost of the sperm itself. *sigh*

    Some sperm banks are more helpful than others!
