2 Yr- Naptime Woes- Molars or Me?

I am driving myself nuts trying to figure out my kiddo's newfound nap "schedule"! I still nurse her at naptime, so no issue falling asleep...however, some days she naps for almost 2.5-3hrs but most days lately she wakes up SCREAMING after about 30 minutes.

Her wake up time is around 7am, and we have our busiest time in the morning (outside time, outings/playdates, etc).  I have been doing lunch closer to 12:30, wind down time through about 1:30, and then nursing her to sleep. She is usually asleep within about 10 min.

For moms who have gone through/are going through molars, what other signs did you see besides perhaps crummy naps? Aside from molars, did anyone see a shift in naps around 2 years old? For a while I thought she was pushing the time back to 2-2:30, but the same thing happened with the waking and screaming when I've tried adjusting the time later than 1:30.

If anyone has had a successful "schedule" in terms of waking/meals/napping/etc that they'd like to share, I am game to trying it! TIA!

  • maybe time for her to learn to fall asleep on her own? does she ever go back to sleep after 30 min? either on her own or if you go in and hold her?

  • Sometimes she will go back to sleep after about 30min but not lately. I have been watching more closely her cues and am thinking maybe earlier nap, similar to your schedule, Nicb13, might be worth a try! Thank you!!!
