My husband had surgery over the weekend and is off work most of the week. Today I decide to check our account balance online and low and behold there have been several iTunes debits in the last two days. I call him and ask "Babe, what is up with all the iTunes purchases?" He goes to tell me that he has purchased a Santa Claus character for Temple Run and upgraded his ammunition on his Boom Tanks! He has purchased a few soundtracks and wallpaper designs for his phone too. He also proceeded to order himself some Papa Johns. He just had his gallbladder removed a few days ago and is already back to eating greasy foods. Now he is complaining that he can't stay out of the bathroom. Well......what did he think was going to happen. Geesh! Looks like I should have used some vacation time to play babysitter.
So, ladies what are some funny/annoying things your husbands do when sitting at home without supervision?
My DH had his gallbladder removed about 3 years ago and was home on the couch for a while. He was under the impression that he could eat whatever he wanted without consequences. He has since learned which foods he can eat, which ones send him straight to the bathroom, and which ones he absolutely cannot touch! I remember they had to shave his tummy for the surgery, and he went shirtless for a good week or so because the shirt fibers would pull on the hair that was coming back in... lol

My DH is normally a good boy when he's home alone - he works, he does laundry, he fixes stuff around the house OR he lies there and watches tv or plays video games but I would say that 8 times out of 10, he's productive.
DH plays on his phone or PS4 (usually mortal combat). He makes a huge mess and doesn't clean it up... Or he does the dishes or starts a load in the washer and tells me that he cleaned house.

My husband will fix like three very specific things that require two trips to two different stores. Real life example: He was off for Presidents Day, home alone and cleaned one all-clad pot to perfection (it had egg white stains all down the side) -requiring a trip to home depot to buy Bartenders Friend (ajax type product) and he cleaned a hard water stain off of the tub, requiring a separate trip for CLR. He then fixed one lock that was a little loose and left all the tools he used strewn all over the kitchen. He was very proud of himself.
I love that man, but he tries my patience.

Great stories ladies. Keep em' coming. I will admit that he does do a lot under normal circumstances. He does however, have SEVERE Pepsi addiction. I mean SEVERE. There is always one in the car, on the floor by the couch, on the nightstand by the bed. If I was to look he may even take one in the shower with him. This drives me crazy. When he starts to get low on them he goes into panic mode.
Now, my ex husband was either cheating or playing x box. I definitely think I would rather deal with the Pepsi addicted DH.
If he's home alone I care less, but I can only deal with about 3-4 days where we're home together if there's no plan. He drives me up the wall because he's always asking 'what're you doing?' What I normally do when you're not here because stuff has to get done.
When I go out of town without him I leave post-its all over the house explaining things like how the dishwasher works and how to do laundry.

YH is funny! Mine will maybe clean a bit and then play computer games . . .
My DH tore his ACL and had surgery in Jan. He was off for a few weeks and accomplished nothing. I asked him to work on a wedding photo album. I mean, he could lay in bed and do it. Nope, he didn't get around to it. He told me if I continue to increase my salary, he can work part-time and be a stay-at-home husband :-/
TTC: Since July 2013 BFP #1: EDD 05/27/2014 (D&C 10/17/2014)
My DH is always on his computer playing video games with his brother, and his brother is cursing him out for not being as good as him.
On weekends when I work, DH invites over his buddies to play cards, and it's usually about a dozen guys eating, drinking greasy food and farting all day long starting at 10 a.m. and going for at least 8-12 hours. I know this because there is a peculiar smell every time I come home from one of these long work days.
Besides these two things, I am a lucky girl. DH is usually pretty handy around the house and does more than his fair share of housework.
My H has been off for spring break this week. Yesterday I came home and found him sprawled out on the couch watching TV. I asked him what he did all day and he acted insulted. He wanted to know if I saw the limbs he cut from the trees in our front yard. Literally, three limbs that took maybe 10 minutes of his time. When I got home, he asked if I could get him a beer and if I would wash some dishes, really?
Other times, he can be really productive. I never know what I am going to get when I get home, either the lazy H or the super productive one.
Ticker warning***
Or he does the dishes or starts a load in the washer and tells me that he cleaned house.
Face+Palm.
This!!! My DH does this too! It drives me NUTS!
Our DH's could be brothers. Mine tells me he spent hours doing stuff, and then I go home and ask what he did. It's usually dishes, but then he had to spend two hours fixing the light in the garage. Then I go to look at the computer history...he spent all day playing games or looking for free stuff on Craiglist. He doesn't have a credit card anymore due to impulse purchases online and one his phone.

Last summer I spent a few days with my grandparents. When I came home the grill was in front of the house. @meladoriestar - I am laughing my butt off at this. I can't believe she stole his cell phone haahaha.
My husband is a firefighter and together we own a small construction company. In the winter, he has a ton of time off - he works 24 hours shifts every three days, but construction is slow so he is home alot. One day I came home to find the entire upstairs bathroom gutted, because he was bored. But that is how we ended up with a brand new bathroom, complete with custom tiling. So I guess I can't complain!
He used to not be able to sit still, until I literally "taught" him how to just relax. It took some time, but now on his off days he sits and watches ESPN. I think he needs it.
I missed this thread and it is so appropriate for me today...I have Mondays off. H has weekends off aside from one Saturday a month he works. He tends to do NOTHING at least one day of the weekend, and the Sat he works, doesn't do anything that Sunday. Drives me nuts. His idea of cleaning for the most part is do all the laundry (and leave clean clothes in the baskets in laundry room, with last load in dryer) and run the dishwasher (leaving it full). Yesterday he did run the vacuum in family room and fixed the lock on the front door. That's it. We have a 2,000 square foot house and two shedding dogs, two shedding cats, plus a wood pellet stove, all of which amounts to A LOT of dust and hair and dirt everywhere.
Now, I need to spend the entire day scrubbing the house. And he wonders why I am in a bad mood Sunday nights...
What really gets me is when he does set his mind to something, he doesn't stop until he finishes. I just wish he would apply that to house work, not just a task or two!
