Also, apparently once you give notice, you are no longer considered "an employee in good standing" at my current job.  Even if you gave three months notice specifically so you could train your replacement because your job sucks and needs that much time.  Being not in good standing means technically I'm not eligible for bonuses...which they are giving out for the first time since I started working here.  Someone fought long and hard for me and I'm getting a portion of what I should be getting.  Works for me, even though it sucks.  I'm torn.

That really sucks and I'm not sure they can legally use your future leave as a reason to not give you a bonus. From my experience bonuses are usually for the prior years work. I just took my company's discrimination training so I know it is at least against their policies.

It's not due to leave (as in, maternity leave and then coming back), it's because I'm leaving and never going back.  It should be for the previous year's work, and it is, it's based on our 2013 numbers, but we're also an Israeli owned, worldwide company, so I'm not sure how that changes things.  Frankly, I'm happy with the amount I got and am sort of wondering why she even told me I wasn't supposed to be getting it, given that it's confidential information and no one else would ever have asked if I had gotten it or how much I got.  Ah well!

SS: I'm so excited. I've been working on an a digital about cats for months and it's finally slated for release and sale next month, pending process. A cat guru wrote it; I did design and illustration. We're working on publicity and marketing and some exciting stuff is planned. MY DESIGN IS GOING TO BE PUBLIC AND MAKING MONEY!

Today was my last day of student teaching! Paperwork is signed and needs to be processed and then I am certified! I am so relieved that I made it through it.

AND, we SAW baby moving for the first time last night. We even caught it on video!

@lest12 I also caught my dog snuggled in the snoogle just like a human too! Adorable.

That's awesome. I have ups and downs at work, too, and I'm not leaving either, so I get how relieving it can be when everything kind of settles down and is good. Hope it stays that way!

Vent session:  Ever since I got pregnant, my MIL has been asking about a shower.  I told her she would surely be invited if/when someone decides to throw one.  When my friend got around to it, she ran the date by my mom and my mom ran the date with MIL and all was good, the date was good for everyone.  Invites went out and now MIL says she has a conflict.  Her conflict?  She is going to her grand-daughter's dance recital.

Reasons I'm upset:  She babysits and sees these kids almost every single weekend.  She has been to many dance recitals/every other activity they do and there will be many more in the future.  There's several events each month.  She constantly favors these kids even though she has 3 other grandchildren.  My friend made it a point that the date was okay with the grandmothers and she said it was a good date for her and now changes her tune and she has made it a big deal for herself to be at the shower for months now.  I just don't get her logic.

I'm most upset because she will continue to favor these kids all her life and my daughter will get the short end of the stick every time and she will constantly compare these kids to my kids....I was really hoping we could avoid that.

anyone else get really annoyed when a meal isnt as good as they thought it was going to be?  this was bad enough not preggers, but now i take this shit hard lol
