I don't use Creme de la Mer, but I do use Rodan and Fields anti aging line. It's kinda pricey but really makes me glow. I do think that it's important to "invest" in damage control with regards to me face
I did a happy dance at my desk when SallySunrise quoted something I said as being genius, and it wasn't even advice I'd thought of myself. I'm a teenager with a crush again.
We converted to a toddler bed almost two weeks ago. The first week was fine, this last week has been awful, so much so I seriously considered putting his crib back up. Im.so.tired!
I felt so sick last night, I didn't brush my teeth or wash my face or anything, I just went straight to bed. The crust I had to scrub off my face & teeth this morning, lawd lawd.
I usually wear panty liners now since LO has destroyed my bladder. Sometimes I forget to take them off and end up washing my underwear with them.
My kid has not slept for more than 6 hours in a week and I am about to go crazy from sleep deprivation. I am treating myself to donuts today to make myself feel better.
@summergirl1211 I never even knew I wasn't supposed to flush tampons until 5 years ago. I lived in an old house with cast iron pipes and turns out tree roots can grow through the tar pipe connectors and take root inside the pipe. It's not a huge deal for tp because it disintegrates and goes through but tampons get stuck. I can't tell you how embarrassing it was to watch the plumber spend hours fishing them out and getting a $1500 bill for snaking the roots. Never again will I flush a tampon!
My FC: I'm going tomorrow for my first brazilian wax and I'm terrified.
I flush tampons at public places or at work, but never at home.
Bwahahah, this is me, except that I *do* flush them at home because I'm a renter and IDGAF. Once I own or live in a single-family dwelling, I probably will stop. Still hoping that someday my post-partum periods will calm down enough so that I can go back to the Diva Cup.... man I loved that thing, tampons suck.
I have never flushed a tampon before. I was always to scared to do it because it may clog the toilet! I cannot live without tampons. I agree with Zpan they are an amazing gift.
I flush used tampons instead of throwing them away. I didn't realize I was doing this wrong until a few years ago, but it just grosses me out to have them in the garbage where my dog or Riley can get to them. And don't even get me started on the smell... Even though I know it's horrible for the plumbing I will continue to flush them.
I also do this. Lol. It makes more sense to flush them than it does to throw them away.
My FC is that the weather is starting to warm up and be nice outside, so it is a good excuse for me to procrastinate cleaning. So when DH wonders why I was unable to get everything done, I can just say the kids needed to get outside instead of being stuck in the house all day...even when it is only suppose to be a high of 64 today, but not until like 3 pm. I really need to catch up on laundry, but I don't feel like it.
We were at the park the other day and there was an african american mom with a baby. Well Emery walks up all cute and is like oh baby, hi baby, baby.... Monkey! I was too far to grab her and say something so I just called for her to go down the slide. Then the lady put the baby in the stroller which just so happened to be in front of the slide and when em got to the bottom she said it again!! I was so mortified! I really hope the mom didn't hear or understand her. I wanted to die and kill her at the same time. And I couldn't even correct her because once she got off the slide, she ran off to something else and that was old news.
So to all the moms of kids who don't talk too much yet, be glad. That was easily the most embarrassing day of my life.

I got on just to see your confession after what you said yesterday. Oh, Emery.................

Lol. Kids do not know any better. I am African American and I used to work in a salon when I was in college. This boy came in with his mom who was buying tanning lotion. He stared at me real hard and goes "do you use this lotion too?" I said "Nope, I have been like this since I was a baby. Guess what happens when I go in the sun?" He had an intense look on his face and I said "I can sometimes get darker than this." His mom had a mortified look on his face when he asked me the question, but once she saw my response she relaxed. Lol. He's a kid, they are going to ask questions. I wasn't bothered by him asking me that.
We decided to put Charlie in her toddler bed when we moved into our house and it's gone really well. But I have gotten up twice in the morning and found her on the floor, once in the middle of the room so I don't know if she fell off the bed and the other was yesterday and she was next to the bed so I worry that she legitimately fell out. But there wasn't any crying so I don't know...

I feel like a horrible person, but I really don't care too much what happened to the Malaysian flight. It's like people are building this huge conspiracy around it before the facts are known, why can't they just find the flight and then go from there?

Everytime I see a toddler playing an application on a smartphone or an Ipad, I worry that I'm letting Tumaini down by not having one of those gadgets and that she'll be behind all the kids in regards to technology once she gets to school. I also worry she'll be left out because she doesn't know the characters from the cool shows on TV because we don't have cable (H downloads the very few shows we like to watch).
@TaviaBrad that's good to know! A kid at the splash pad asked if I had a baby in my belly last summer. I was sad the whole day lol. So you are a better person than me!

We're going to Philly this weekend because DH has a big day of interviews that will determine what regional area he's assigned to for pastor jobs (most likely NY or NJ; the interviews are in Philly because that's where the denomination seminary is), and the thing I'm most looking forward to is going to the MALL that's 15 minutes from the campus. A MALL! A real live mall! With a food court and a play place and shops for me to buy things in. Oliver and me are going to have a TIME while Dad is having his interviews.

I can't speak from @TaviaBrad's perspective, but to me, that would be a totally different ballgame. I could handle a kid mentioning my skin color better than that!

Our nearest real mall is a hour and a half away. Target is also a 45 minute drive, im saving tons of money living here.
The money I would be saving on not shopping would be way overshadowed by the cost of prescription depression medication!
Or shipping costs because I have to shop somehow. I live 5-10 minutes from 2 malls!

Good lord @ThePinkSuperhero where do you live that doesn't have a mall?! I would legit die...I mean seriously I would die
NYC doesn't really have malls like you find in the 'burbs (I think technically there's one near Herald Square but I don't count it because it's shitty)..... it's so sad. You can't go to Express and NY&CO and Loft all in the same day, you gotta trek all over the damn city, which I never, ever, ever have the time or energy for.

This is me as well. The nearest decent Mall and Target is about an hour. We have a Mall, but there are more non shopping stores than anything. It has the post office, social security office, telemarketing company, Sears (but only appliances and tools), 2 food places, Ace hardware, etc. The only shopping stores are Maurices and Penneys and they have gone downhill. The mall is most used by walkers who use it for daily walking workouts. They've even figured out in distance the paths and have them posted for everyone to know. I wish we had a decent mall to actually shop in and not have to go out of town. Is it sad that when I see "walkers" now I automatically go into zombie thoughts. Smh
@TaviaBrad, that is what I always told my sister so I am glad to hear it is true. My nephew use to say "hey, brown lady/boy/man" randomly and my sister wanted to die. She was so worried he offended someone or that someone would think she was racist when we are all far from it. I told her that he does not know their name and that at 3 years old he used what he knew (his colors) to identify them in order to be friendly and strike up an interaction. If you told him that we were white, he would look at you like you were crazy and say. "You not white, you peach"...which is true, very few white people are actually the color white. It was very confusing to him!
@nesenotes, I am in Alabama with @StokedWifey...so if Emery goes missing it may be two of us you need to find. She is hilarious!
I don't have a FC that I can think of yet...
See that is the thing, kids are innocent at that age. If you ask them to say what someone looked like they might say they are brown and have black hair, because they do not know any better. I think it varies with age. There is a fine line between a 3 year old saying something like that and a child who is say 8 years old saying that. In my situation, the kid wasnt more than about 4 years old, and he figured when you wear tanning lotion, your skin is dark. I bet now when he sees different races he will have a better understanding that some people are born with different skin tones. This is why I think it is important at a young age to expose our LO's to all different types of races and people.
I have not been at Target for the last year and a half. But I like to go to the mall even just for window shopping. We have one within 1 mile from our home.
I'm losing weight steadily, feeling great and toning everywhere... except my belly. Still rocking the jiggly middle, and the leftover pregnancy "flap" if YKWIM. I'm getting pretty down on myself about it, especially with Jamaica right around the corner. I feel like such a hypocrite, with all the "love your body" stuff I send out there to other moms, and here I am hating my own (or at least part of it. The mommy-est part!).
I feel like most of my confessions include the phrase "I feel like such a hypocrite..." Maybe that's a better confession than the belly thing.
I feel like a horrible person, but I really don't care too much what happened to the Malaysian flight. It's like people are building this huge conspiracy around it before the facts are known, why can't they just find the flight and then go from there?
My FC is that I'm fascinated! I rarely follow much news and I generally eye roll hard at the looney conspiracy theorists, but I'm reading everything about this one.
I'm with @ALou9785 on this! It's just baffling that it's been a week and no trace. I just feel awful for those families with no answers! However, I probably should stop looking it is not helping my flying anxiety what so ever!
@ALou9785 and @cbear2010: I'm with you both. I just can't imagine with all of the technology we have today how a plane can just disappear. I am fascinated and horrified by it at the same time. It truly creeps me out! I hope they find it soon and are able to give those poor families some answers. Never knowing has to be the worst feeling ever.
Totally fascinated too. How can it just be...gone??
Looks like it should have been an UO instead of a FC. ">

@Bliz1712 we don't watch it either, but not because we're slackers. We choose not to because of the content. I DO think it's very important to be up on current events (relevant ones anyway, which I suppose has a different meaning to everyone) but we prefer to read it online where we can choose which stories we care to keep up with. For example, YES, I want to know the homicide rate where I live, if there's someone dangerous on the lose, etc. NO, I do not want to know all the details of each of those homicides, including pics of the crime scene and sobbing, intrusive interviews with family members.

I leaked this out the other day, but we are officially TTC.
We went back and forth with it for a while now and decided to go for it. Frankie has been chomping at the bit for his second child and i'll be 37 this year so my window of opportunity is closing fast! I will be getting permanant birth control again afterwards because thats the only thing that has worked for me. We paid $8 grand to have my tubes untied so like @ALou9785 said "I better get my money's worth out of that surgery" lmao!

Ughh, yes. This isn't as bad but Addie is obsessed with monsters now and we were at Joanne's fabric yesterday. There was an older lady (70ish) waiting for some fabric to be cut and Addie looked straight at her, waved, and said, "Hey, monster!"
I immediately said, "Addie, that's not a monster," which made it worse by drawing attention to it. The lady just gave a wan smile and we left.
I felt really bad because the lady didnt look scary or anything. I think Addie was just obsessing about monsters again, but im afraid the lady might have taken it as that she must look old and crazy or something. I'm sure this is just the start of many foot in mouth situations that will occur over the next few years.
DD#1 made a similar comment about my great aunt at my aunt's 95th birthday party. She is very frail and thin (only weighs about 80lbs) and it scared DD. Thankfully my aunt is hard of hearing and didn't hear the comment. Kids don't understand, but tis still hard as a parent.
I don't watch the news because it's like amateur hour, and I get too annoyed at the bad reporting. They often mess up dates, names of cities, and names of people, and stumble over pronunciations. I do read the paper (not the local paper, same problem) and religiously read the news online, so I'm good.
My FFFC is that I often have the TV on as background noise, since it can get lonely as hell being alone with a 1 year old all day. DS doesn't watch it and only glances up if there's a dog or cat on the screen. But, he is starting to demand "TT!" when it's off, so I'm thinking I have to stop soon. Sigh.
