STMs, old wives tales that worked for you

So now that I'm so close to the end of my pregnancy everyone has been telling me to use all kind of old wives tale remedies that are supposed to bring on labor. However not one of these people have first hand knowledge of the remedy actually working. So this just got me wondering if any of you STMs used an old wives tale that actually did lead to labor. Please share your stories. Thanks!

Time  I do think walking and swaying on the balance ball are good for labor prep.  And sex (or evening primrose oil) can help "ripen" your cervix.  But ultimately baby will come when baby comes!

Just to clarify, I wasn't asking so that I could try to induce myself. I just was more curious about if anyone actually had first hand knowledge of these techniques actually working. As I said, people say to try all kinds of things but nobody ever had success with them themselves. I tend to think they are like urban myths. I just wanted to see if anyone could actually say that one of them worked.

I boiled cumin seeds, strained the seeds out and drank the "tea." Important to drink warm and right before bed. Within 8 hours I was in labor.
