I don't really want to get into the drama here but I do want to throw out a third option here. I had a really hard time breastfeeding the first few weeks and a lot of that was feeling like a failure if I wasn't making enough milk. Now, I make so much that I donate to mothers who have adopted babies or have a low supply (cuz my LO is a stuck up little thing who only likes it from the tap (PITA!)). So, I think what I'm going to to do is find a breastfeeding buddy before my next baby. I've used the Human Milk 4 Human Babies Facebook page to donate milk before and I'm thinking that a few weeks before I give birth (not that I'm pregnant or anything) I'll post that I'm looking for a local mom I can tap for help with milk if I'm feeling desperate those first couple months. This is just what I think I'm going to do, no one else has to and you should do what you feel is right for your babe but I wanted to throw in the donor milk idea. Before formula existed, moms worked together to get the babies fed when there was a problem. It's harder in today's society but we can still help each other out.
