I have 4 boxes of Girl Scout cookies coming to my office and that's where they're staying. The husband and kid aren't getting any. My job is hard, yo. (Not really, I just like to eat cookies and I don't like sharing).
I have to ask, where is your preferred place to get a cheesesteak in Philly? I've only tried Pats, Genos and Tony Lukes (at the airport no less, but it was still amazeballs). Oh and some place at Reading Terminal Market that isn't there anymore, I can't remember the name.
We just had this conversation at work!
I'm not looking for much in a sandwich. Long roll. Shredded thin steak. REAL american cheese that is melted all over and cooked with the meat. As long as they do that, I'm good. Tony Luke's okay - my husband had one at a Phillies game once that I helped myself to.
I've been to Geno's. God help me, but I hated it. Cheese Whiz is horrific. It was only later that my husband said I could get one with real cheese.
I have never in my life eaten cheese whiz and I never will! @SCSmith2011, I love provolone too. I like mine with only grilled onions, meat, provolone & lots of salt & pepper. I like Abner's for their chicken cheesesteaks for the same reason that I didn't often get down to South Street for Jim's.
There is a place here in Colorado that actually flies out Amoroso's rolls and has *real* Water Ice.
They have been written up nationally as one of the few places outside of Philly that you can get an authentic cheesesteak.
Shit, now I want to stop there on the way home and I probably will.

Hugs to all the IF girls going through that. It sucks. Also, having an ultrasound while bleeding heavily may have been one of the more humiliating experiences of my life. I bled everywhere. The doctor and nurse were total professionals, but when I got down to clean myself up, it looked like a crime scene.
Also, if a poster is going to claim 'issues' as to why they're rushing testing, put your damn issues in your sig. Real issues, not just 'there's a family history.' A history of what and how does that affect you? Mainly so that people can see what's going on and if you're going through something, then people know. Especially if you aren't a frequent poster.
There are reasons to go in for testing before a year even if you're under 35. They're rare, but they exist. However, if you don't have anything in your sig, and you're talking about going in for testing at 5 months, I'm going to assume your issue is impatience.
I'll agree that none of this testing is super happy fun time. It's not like the doc gives you drugs and *poof* you're pregnant. They test, and, God forbid, they find something wrong. That has to be fixed. If it can be. Or they find nothing wrong. So no explanation, but you still have to be poked and prodded.

I desperately want thin mints. I've been thinking about them for weeks, but I haven't seen anyone selling them. In 2 weeks, there will be a booth at the grocery store, and I can't wait.
Friday is my house cleaning day while hubs is at work. I work Tuesday and Wednesday nights so by Friday it's pretty piled up. This week in particular, my kitchen is a disaster. I didn't wake up until 10 today and have been in my jammies watching tv and bumping since then. I fully intend to go into speed cleaning mode about an hour before he gets here and claim that I was super busy all day.

I've never had anything from Starbucks, and I've only ever been in a Starbucks once.
You need to re-evaluate your life choices. Vanilla soy latte FTW!!
@mackenziesmama that will be my first order. I'm not a big coffee drinker and the lingo and menu intimidates me. And I'm a cheap bastard and will choke down cheap, gross coffee. I realize how sad it is that I'm intimidated by a Starbucks menu, but I get anxious thinking that I'll be revealed as a coffee novice when I order. But I'll just walk up to the counter and parrot "vanilla soy latte, please." Thanks
New confession: I can't stand my husband when he's drunk. The past year or so he turns into an obnoxious child when he drinks. I guess his tolerance is less than it used to be. He just got back from the bar after watching the hockey game and within 10 minutes he had already pissed me off to the point of me confining myself to our bedroom. Ugh. So annoying.
Okay. That doesn't look good me. I'm glad I'm not missing out. Soggy fries are just unacceptable.
@EnglandXO - I'd bet money on the Philly Cheesesteak poutine being awful! Come to Philly. I get you real sammich.
I'll take your word for it. I have yet to find a Philly Cheesesteak, in any form, that I enjoy. I'll eat them, but I don't enjoy them.
Because they are SO BAD in other places! I just don't order them outside of Philly because many restaurants don't know wtf they are doing.
I'll also get ya a soft pretzel out of some guy's van. Philly keeps it real.

Jim's at 4th & South!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111!!!!!
Also, random food trucks.
(I realize I'm not Joy, but I really miss Philly cheesesteaks.)
I'm butting in, too!
Have you all ever been to John's Roast Pork or Cosmi's? They have amazing cheese steaks. Also, Steve's Prince of Steaks are pretty great too. They're in the northeast, but now have an outpost in Center City.

I can't stand drunk people when I'm sober.they. annoy the shit outta me & I either feel pissed off or uncomfortable.....
I prefer H while he's drinking. I find him more fun.
I joke with him all the time that I prefer him when he is drunk, as well as the nights that he "wakes up" and cuddles me. He doesn't actually wake up, it's like sleep walking/talking but instead he'll say sweet nothings and hold me.
Summary, I prefer H when he's not in his right frame of mind ...
I'm a terrible wife.
Huh. C just demands 3/8" wrenches in his sleep and talks about improvements to assembly line production. It is fun to mess with him when it happens. Once I offered him a cow instead of a wrench and he told me to fuck my cow that wouldn't fix the meter.
ETA: This happens stone cold sober. When he's drunk he just snores.
If I'm out and am in dire need (stranded without floss or a toothpick) I will pull a strand of hair out of my head and use it as floss.
I feel weird sharing that. Judge away.
It's like, I'm disturbed by that but also so impressed by your genius and this has happened to me on numerous occasions and I could've taken advantage of this technique instead of trying to create a vacuum with my tongue to pull it out haha

Same. It's just not funny anymore, it's obnoxious. And I'm young, as in most people my age are still out drinking quite regularly. But I was never into that scene anyway, I always prefer staying home and not having any contact with society.
I have 2...First, I am a substitute teacher and whenever I'm in a new class I look at the kids and wonder if my future ones will look anything like any of them (I know that's kind of creepy, I just can't help it!) Second, I punched my husband while he was sleeping last night because he was snoring SO LOUD and when he woke up and looked around I pretended I was already asleep.
Edit: I tried to use an emoticon, it failed. I tried to fix it, it failed even worse. Now this post is emoticonless.

I WEAR ORANGE FOR MY GRANDMA- SUPPORT KIDNEY CANCER AWARENESS Trinitrotoluene: "My ears have been deflowered ....my mouth just hasn't been!"
I accidentally drugged C a few months ago to the point where she couldn't wake up for 16 hours. I felt really bad. She was having a sneezing fit and couldn't control it so I went out and bought her some medicine that said "anti-sneezing" without computing that it probably also meant "antihistamine."
She asked "Should I take 2 of these?" And I said "Yeah, go ahead." Then she poured herself a glass of wine and sat on the couch.
Again, didn't think about it until she asked me to turn the lights down so she can lay down and rest. Then she started snoring. I thought it was really weird that she was so exhausted but I enjoyed the peace and quiet since she gets hyper on Friday nights.
Then she got up and said she was going to take a shower. An hour later I still didn't hear the water running and I found her half naked laying on the bed, snoring.
I shook her shoulder and kept repeating her name and she finally opened her eyes and asked "What did you DO TO ME? What is in that medicine??"
Then I realized... Oh, shit. I grabbed the box and read the warning labels. She was only supposed to have 1 pill and she shouldn't have had the glass of wine.
She was okay later on but the poor thing couldn't keep her eyes open and finally just slept through the night and woke up 16 hours later. I kept checking on her to make sure she was still breathing.
That woman is rotten. Enjoy her asshole responses and her lol'ing at other people's struggles.
Oh my, indeed. I got way too rage-y when she implied that the awesome @dorothyzbornak97 shouldn't be having a child "so late in life."
Im on page 2 and as soon as I saw her stabby comment to @dorothyzbornak97, I wanted to go through the screen and choke her. What a terrible thing to say... I can only imagine how much worse this thread gets. ((goes back to reading))

Oh, this this this-ity this. So handsy when he's drunk. And obnoxious. I just don't enjoy him when he's drunk and I've definitely said so. If he's drinking at home and it's just us it's slightly better, but the rare occasions he goes out to drink with friends it is awful. He also has no idea what a 'serving' consists of. He'll take a drinking glass (so 10-12 oz juice glass) and fill it all the way or 3/4 full of wine. That is not a 'glass' of wine. That's like 2.5-3 glasses of wine. Also, 3 inches of rum is a lot in a glass.
