@has615 oh heyyyyy you will deft be hired anywhere with experience like that! It's packed! Why don't you try patriot place or bar Louie in prov? Anywhere you end up, I'll totes come in for a beer!!!
I don't really share emotional/personal things on the bump because of a bad experience from last summer. I shared something really hard that had happened (death of BFF) on an HDBD, and not one person read it...or if they did they didn't respond. But the person who posted after me had to put down their dog that week (also terribly hard to go through, not discounting that) and almost every post after that point mentioned the dog. It bummed me out!
@flutterby00 That's because I posted several pictures of myself with my dog on his last morning before taking him to be euthanized. People rarely read the words on HDBD, they look at the pictures. I guarantee that if you'd created a separate post about your loss, you would have had an overwhelming response (as evidenced by the response in this thread). I don't recall reading your post at all, and I definitely didn't read it and then decide to post about my dog, I obviously had planned to do that all along as I specifically took my weekly HDBD pic with him in it that week. I know it wasn't your intent, but now I feel like an insensitive asshole for, I guess, 'stealing your thunder' all those months ago. My apologies.
I feel bad for the food that gets thrown out so I will purposely eat things at weird times just to not have to throw it away. Currently eating chicken corn soup for breakfast since we are going away for the weekend and it would have to get thrown out if I didn't eat it.</blockquote
Hey! I do this too! I had chicken strips for breakfast so they wouldn't get thrown out because we won't be home for dinner and I had lunch plans with a friend....
I had an awful nightmare a few nights ago involving LO and one of our dogs, and now I'm a little afraid of him. I never leave the dogs unsupervised around LO anyways, but now I can't even look at him the same anymore. It obviously doesn't change how I care for him, and although I told DH about the dream, I didn't tell him which dog it was (it's his).

I am not at all directing this at you, @Sleepy33, I do not blame you at all for any thunder stealing. I had created a post about my friend Allison on the day she died.....its been resurrected today ("Its been a crappy morning"...something like that). The responses at the time were minimal, and then with the HDBD, I was feeling pretty alone and invisible. It was a true confession...name of the game.
I agree, people are drawn to visuals, and your pictures and story was very relate-able. Losing a dear pet is so hard.
I ate a sleeve of Thin Mints while reading through this whole thread. Now, I'm going on restaurants.com. Because I've never heard of it. On to the next sleeve of cookies.
@23Melissa28 i've heard bad things about restaurant.com- owners refusing to take the gc and stuff. and then the businesses saying they told restaurants.com to stop selling the gc and they weren't. lots of drama.
I've had a $25 restaurant.com gc in my wallet for probably 4 years now. Still haven't redeemed it. Last time I tried, none of the restaurants around here appealed to me, and there were a lot of restrictions. I'll have to check it out again.
A lot of you have said you feel like ass-holes about my first confession....I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad. I also didn't mean for my old post from June to get resurrected (thank you @deedee1017!) It is what it is, and I only posted the confession because it was that....a confession. All the well wishes and thoughts and such are very kind and mean a lot even this far after the fact. When you lose someone you have loved for so long, it doesn't stop stinging for a long time. I miss her and think of her every day.

Hmmmm. Well, better not then. Because I think if that happened to me, I'd simultaneously cry and commit acts of violence, in the restaurant. No bueno.
----
I once had a restaurant.com owner tell us (after the fact) that we had to pay with cash if we wanted to use the gc. We don't carry cash. With 5 of us, we were able to dig out enough coins from our car etc, to get to our $120 bill.

Now you gave me the sads ( And I know the feeling of losing a close friend. ::hugs::
@Kittymom6 and @Herefishy87- Thanks for the suggestions. Sadly we are in one of those situations right now were we make too much money for help and not enough to cover much outside our normal expenses.
I do have some calls in to different people through our ins. to see if there is anything else I can do. I even called a couple locals places that offer therapy at discounted rates because they are interns.
Our monthly insurance premium actually went up quite a bit after the AHCA and our deductibles also went up so I am not sure if leaving our group (and my family premium would actually help). The owner of DH's company is supposedly looking into other options as well since a lot of people were negatively effected.

There are a lot of rules for restaurant.com. for example, you can only redeem a specific amount like $10 at a time then you can only use 1 certificate at a time. The restaurant itself can implement its own rules on top of that. It's a PITA. We didn't even get to use the certificate because of some BS that the restaurant gave us.

I'm not sure how to read this. I really didn't mean to hurt your feelings further. I was just trying to make it better. I felt like a jerk, not because of your confession but because I missed your post back in June, and you were hurt by it. I have found so much support on this board and I'd hate for anyone else to feel like they are excluded, sorry to have resurrected the old post and in turn, old feelings.
@deedee1017 I think (hope) it was a genuine thank you, and not sarcastic. I think she said she appreciates the continued the support even though it's late now.
I totally just gave a couple of dude TSA agents a hard time for testing every. Single. Bag. of breastmilk that I'm flying with. I know they're just doing their jobs but seriously. And it was little fun to watch them squirm.
@deedee1017 I think (hope) it was a genuine thank you, and not sarcastic. I think she said she appreciates the continued the support even though it's late now.
I went to a sleep seminar this week in the hopes of learning some tips on getting my daughter to nap somewhere other than on my chest or in the mei tai. She ended up telling me to choose a type of sleep training and start. I have absolutely no intention of doing this. So, here I sit with my sweet girl napping on my chest.
My true FFFC I seriously judged the woman with the 10 month old that only sleeps in his car seat... Not just in the car, he sleeps in it in the house, for naps and overnight. I feel badly for that mama but I just don't understand how you could let that go on for so long.
I saw a story in FB saying that it is dangerous to let your child sleep in their car seat outside of the car. I guess the head can slump and there airway isn't clear and they suffocate.

Are you looking for a therapist? I would think that your state would have some other options or some have sliding scales or even EAP. I am in Texas and we have some...if you happen to live in tx pm me

I'm late to the party and my FFFC has been done. I also don't understand how people can pick and choose what babies they love and which they don't. I mean- they are innocent babies. And I do notice someone will like a baby right under mine or right over mine and they skipped mine. I know who you are !! I would go and 'unlove' their babies picture, but that isn't nice and I'm not an asshat for the most part.
@ElleStaxx I clarified! I don't not love any babies. They're all super cute! I just think some of the pictures are better than others. I want to be able to love them twice. Everyone gets a love it for their adorable baby and some get an extra for an exceptional picture.
You're good in my book!! And I also see some people just don't love any pictures. And that's fine. I guess I am with @petdocd when it comes down to it. If I don't have any idea who you are I am not going to love your baby. And LC#s would never get a love. She is the reason we need a dislike button.
What's that you were saying about not being an a$$hat? Oh, "for the most part".

I usually love all the babies even if I don't recognize the poster. I don't have to know you to appreciate a picture of your adorable baby. Pretty much the only one I wouldn't love is LC#s and I'm not sure I've noticed her post any pics anyway. I know there have been other asshats whose posts I'd prefer not love on principle but I do not have the amazing memory of a lot of ladies here, so I can't remember who they were.
Trust. I will not lose sleep over whether or not you (or anyone else, for that matter) "love" my baby. The fact that you're trying to make a point by purposely not "loving" a stranger's baby is asinine. Curious why you feel so offended by me. Or are you just trying to keep up with the kids who think they are popular?

It's a old story, but still relevant and sad. A 1 year old died while sleeping in her car seat while not in the car. Her airway was constricted.
I'm pretty sure it's called positional asphyxia and it scares the crap out of me. Why couldn't the same thing happen on a long car ride?
The angle is different. That's why car seats need to have a certain recline. It's scary but don't worry about it in the car. Regardless it's still safer to have them in the seat in case of an accident. They're starting to do more and more studies on this because. It just happened recently to like a 15 month old at her babysitters house. They're still looking into it... but she was sleeping in her car seat in the other room. I usually won't wake LO when we get home (I put his car seat in my sight and he always wakes within 10 minutes) but not anymore! Plus once we get a convertible seat it will be a non issue.

Although I am not @LC122 biggest fan, I certainly wouldn't hold it against her kids. I think that's mean. I'd still love her pics if she posted them.

I think you are intelligent enough to know why I find you offensive. I'd rather not get into a big public debate. It would make me a hypocrite. I shouldn't have gone there in my earlier post, but I guess I was feeling feisty. If you genuinely want more of a response, feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you when I have a chance.
