Ok got a good one. A couple of weeks ago I decided to toss all of my underwear because they were just old and yucky after the pregnancy. I put them in bags to throw out but they are still sitting in my room. I bought about ten new pairs and I've been shitty with laundry lately so ever so slowly they are making it back into the rotation.
I rarely rarely go into the hdbd post, so I apologize that I do not love it your babies! I do go into the random aw posts, though, because those are less overwhelming. Living on the west coast, by the time I check in, we're on page 3 of hdbd and it's just too much, I pretend it didn't happen.
@flutterby00 your first FFFC made me really sad, I'm sorry no one responded! (But I don't go I to hdbd's so I'm innocent on this one!! See above). But I can say that it might be because talking about death of a friend is more uncomfortable, whereas pets are easier. Sorry
And @flutterby00 again, your second one re: your baby calming your tears is so beautiful. I could love it a million times.
I haven't exercised at all since giving birth. (Heck, even when I was pregnant it was rare) I want to but I never do. I would rather take a nap instead.
I gained 55 pounds while pregnant and somehow 45 of those just fell off. I had lost 35 pounds by the time we left the hospital. Must have good genes.
The last 10 is driving me nuts though. Guess I'll start working out... Maybe. Someone motivate me!!
I totally (silently) judged DH when yesterday he bought DD a toy. It was a xylophone to play with these little plastic mallets. Seriously? She's 4 months old. Even the packaging says 3+ years for age. DH, either learn to read or learn to use common sense.
I have a xylophone for DS and he loves it. Sometimes I play songs for him during tummy time, other times I sit him on my lap and let him watch me play, and sometimes he grabs the mallet and tries to hit the keys too.
FFFC: I don't read age labels on toys. I am supervising his activity and nothing he has is a chocking (#callback) hazard.
Oh, and the xylophone is out of tune. My follow-up FFFC is that I think even children's musical toys should be in tune.
@huntjul in your opinion does your husband do anything right?
@NRyan55 Quite a lot actually. Sure I side-eye him for buying a xylophone, but that's a pretty small detail. I'm over the moon that he takes excellent care of DD while I'm at work so she doesn't have to go to day care (not saying bad things about day care, but I'd rather she bond with DH), and I'm excited that he loves her and thinks about her enough to buy her toys, even if I feel they're a little too advanced for her.
Plus he hasn't brought home a frozen pizza in weeks.
in effort to try to save myself from going bald, I have been washing my hair less frequently. That being said, I just washed my hair since Monday night. It looked pretty amazing yesterday, though. #imdisgusting
But I have been dealing with PPD and I talked to me OB about it and he started setting up all these appointments and talked about possible prescriptions they could give and I realized we wouldn't be able to afford everything. It was so embaressing to reach out to someone and then realize you are unable to afford all the help they can give because you have terrible insurance. DH and I sat down with our budget and just started chopping things out, it wasn't enough but it is working for now. So now he is looking for a new job with a bigger company hoping it will come with better insurance and I have started looking for something to see if I can either make more money or get more insurance coverage.
So I am limping through the treatment plan while struggling to pay for it, which makes it worse. I just wish I had an extra 500 a month so we wouldn't have to worry about it. Maybe I should write a book about it like Brooke Shields then I wouldn't have to worry about the cost anymore.
I have one this week. I got fucking fired yesterday. Im still slightly bitter as you can see. I bought 2 restaurant.com gifts card at $10 for $25 then used them on some of my regulars checks since my bar won't allow comp tabs. This benefitted me since I would make them happy and get a bigger tip. Well my job said it was stealing since it was less revenue for the restaurant. I guess their right even though I bought the gift cards fair and square. I was the head bartender and the main bar trainer not to mention I've never even been written up.
Honestly, I was going to quit come summer anyway since it gets so slow. Im just pissed I didn't get to leave on my own terms. Now I'm also a little nervous to go searching for a new job since I'm pumping and its really hard to do that during a bar shift.

Sorry you lost your job, but you did have this one coming. Most places will immediately terminate for theft, regardless of what your role is or whether you've ever been written up before.

@has615 I am sorry that is really shitty. If they didn't want people using restaurant.com gift cards they shouldn't have signed up for the service! I don't see how it is stealing. If your customers had presented the gift card it would have been accepted no problem.
I also see that it translates to a better tip to you, but if I was your manager I would be smart enough to know that a better customer experience=repeat Lbusiness=more revenue. What an idiot.
All of this. If it's stealing, everyone who purchases them and uses them are stealing from the company. That's totally lame. Sorry dude
I purposely "Love" pics that dont have a lot of "love its." I would be crushed if nobody at all, or only a few people loved a picture of my sweet girl.
S/O FFFC -- I've been much more accomodating and more patient with my students since being back at work (even the PITA ones) because I can't help picturing them as babies (they're college students) and thinking about how much their parents probably love them. #turningsoft #iusedtobeabitch
I'm late to the party and my FFFC has been done. I also don't understand how people can pick and choose what babies they love and which they don't. I mean- they are innocent babies. And I do notice someone will like a baby right under mine or right over mine and they skipped mine. I know who you are !! I would go and 'unlove' their babies picture, but that isn't nice and I'm not an asshat for the most part.
@ElleStaxx I clarified! I don't not love any babies. They're all super cute! I just think some of the pictures are better than others. I want to be able to love them twice. Everyone gets a love it for their adorable baby and some get an extra for an exceptional picture.
Im guilty of not "loving" everyone's photos but sometimes I check in and don't have time to go through the entire post. I also might not "love it" if I don't recognize the poster.
Yep.. I'm the same way... I usually post mine and then go back through and love all the posts... but sometimes I get busy at work and can't make it back to finish my loving.
And I am positive I have missed some too. I am talking about people who have clearly gone through the whole thread and picked out favorites and loved them and clearly skipped certain ones. At the end of the day, all the babies are adorable and we know it. I get the sensatives sometimes. #thesadscanmakeucray
@wedding06, agreed. some of my FB friends post pics that would not receive love its in my book. #thatangleisscary
Sometimes you just can't #loveallthethings - life happens. This makes me feel like I am being watched/judged. Is this the love it version of the sticky notes? dammit.
I purposely "Love" pics that dont have a lot of "love its." I would be crushed if nobody at all, or only a few people loved a picture of my sweet girl.
Similarly, if someone starts a thread and no one has responded, I try to respond. Even if I don't know the answer I like to at least offer support.

Yea but it isn't theft. Restaurant.com offers discounted gift cards (like pay $25 for a $50 gift card), and the bar willingly signed up for the service accepting the loss in revenue I am assuming in exchange for the marketing. All gift cards (even discount ones) should be treated like cash, unless it was used for something not allowable in the fine print.
The bar signs up for the gift cards to get people into the door to spend money. They don't sell them in the restaurant because there is no need--the customer is already there.
Theft can look like a lot of different things. Just because she's not stealing money from the cash register doesn't mean this isn't theft. The gift cards result in less revenue for the restaurant, and she does
it to get better tips (i.e. money in her pocket). So, net move of money
away from the restaurant into her pocket, albeit through a couple of
middle men.
I still have no idea what "HDBD" means (or if I put those letters in the right order). #imstillanewbapparently
I often make up what I think those initials mean when I'm trying to sleep. Often, not sure if I have them in the correct order. Today, it means: Hot, Dirty Babes Dishing. #sleeplessnessleadstorandomness
I never could learn from acronyms, since to help you need to successfully put them in right order AND remember what they stand for. #iwantpetdocsphotographicmemory
My baby is the most beautiful child in the world to me. I assume all of you feel the same about yours. Therefore, I will always love your babies pictures, as time allows for me to see them. I do get sads, when I'm extra tired, that my baby receives few loves....but I also always post late and I suck at photography, so I blame it on that. #fuckloveitsiknowmybabyisfuckingadorbs

I would never in a million years have thought that doing what she did would constitute theft. Like @NRyan said, its good customer service which is great for business. The manager fired her is an idiot if he's willing to potentially alienate regular customers over $15 in gross profits.

Does the fine print say anything about not using it for alcohol purchases? Maybe that was the issue. But I would've asked my boss if I would've gotten fired if I had paid for their tabs in cash. Because to me, gift cards = cash.

Im so sorry you're going through this. Did you let your doctor know that finances were tight? Perhaps there are some free/low cost/sliding scale services that s/he could recommend? Take care of yourself!
I don't post a lot, but there are days when I #loveallthethings. Sometimes I think that makes me seem like an extra creepy lurker/stalker.

@has615 that totally sucks. I'm so sorry. I have another fffc. I used to keep and extra book of coupons in my apron at the restaurant I worked in and would apply the coupon to a bill in a "keep the change" situation so that it turned into a bigger tip for me too.
This was like 6 years ago and I figured if that customer had had the coupon it would be the same thing. I hid it though so I knew it was wrong. #youarenotalone #restaurantswasteallthetime #imstillnotsorry

a) why does this bar not allow comps? things like this keep people feeling extra special and coming back. not all the time, just every now and again.
b) it may not have been ethically amazing to trade restaurant profits for money-in-pocket but it certainly could have been handled differently - a discussion rather than firing. for the piddly amount, it could have even been reimbursed.
c) @has615 it seems strange that they would fire you purely over this when you held such a high position in the company that you presumably worked very hard for???!?!?! were they trying to make an example of you (were other people also doing this)?

March Siggy Challenge: whatever you want! --> ORIGINAL CHALLENGE: GIF YOUR BABY!
Gotta say, totally disappointed that that is what it means. My midnight creativity was more exciting! Also...why on earth did that common sense meaning never occur to me?!
My confession is that I seriously hate it when the people I work with bitch and moan over getting snow and that they need to leave work early over the drop of a few snow flakes. You live in Iowa, fucking deal with it!
I'm so crabby today from listening to everyone, it's ridiculous.
Oh my god me too!! Yesterday everyone made a mad dash from the office when it started snowing. I, on the other hand, had to cover court hearings downtown and of course the courthouse didn't close. I sat my happy ass working until 4:30 and then drove home on roads that were better then than they were at noon when I went. I also have a coworker who lives in a more rural area, but with the threat of snow she takes vacation time and then bitches because she has no time.
MosyMama I will be your friend. You live in Hanover, right? Is this creepy?
Ooohh, Hanover! Come to the Central PA board! It's been dead over there for ages and I'm trying to bring it back so we can all make some local friends. I keep posting random stuff to try to start some conversation. Is that pathetic? Is that maybe another FFFC?

I'm sorry, this probably just adds to your depression/anxiety. My insurance doesn't cover my medicine well at all, it should cost us like $400-$500 and thats with the insurance discount. Recently i found out that if I went on the medicine company's web site they have coupons and prescription cards to help offset the cost. I now get my medicine for $50 a month instead. Aw thanks for the support guise! I just got a call with a job offer at another sports bar. I don't know if I still want to work somewhere that has me getting home from work 330am. Im very indecisive. @carawasa I was working at Snookers but I was thinking of trying to get in at Hot Club this summer since its always packed so if your ever out I'll buy ya a beer (without a gift card )
As for the gift card itself it never said we couldn't buy them. I used my email and name so I wasn't trying to hide it. I didn't offer to reimburse it, honestly I called the owner yesterday and left a very teary voicemail she didn't call back and I don't even care. Im more offended then anything, Ive known them for so many years. The owners were at my wedding we were pretty close, or so I thought. A sick part of me wants to be a vindictive bitch and report them for tax evasion. They never let us claim our tips totes illegal. But lets be real Im too lazy for that.
But I have been dealing with PPD and I talked to me OB about it and he started setting up all these appointments and talked about possible prescriptions they could give and I realized we wouldn't be able to afford everything. Ugh, nothing like shitty insurance to kick you when you're already down. Maybe you could look into other insurance options. I've heard from some people that they were pleasantly surprised by what was available through the Affordable Care Act. It's worth a shot. Good luck with everything.
I totally (silently) judged DH when yesterday he bought DD a toy. It was a xylophone to play with these little plastic mallets. Seriously? She's 4 months old. Even the packaging says 3+ years for age. DH, either learn to read or learn to use common sense.

FFFC part two: I called the company that I ordered the xylophone from to let them know that the F key was out of tune. They shipped another with no question. The F key is still out of tune. Lesson learned, don't ever buy a musical instrument that you aren't able to play first and brush up on songs that don't contain F.

S/O FFFC -- I've been much more accomodating and more patient with my students since being back at work (even the PITA ones) because I can't help picturing them as babies (they're college students) and thinking about how much their parents probably love them. #turningsoft #iusedtobeabitch
Theft can look like a lot of different things. Just because she's not stealing money from the cash register doesn't mean this isn't theft. The gift cards result in less revenue for the restaurant, and she does it to get better tips (i.e. money in her pocket). So, net move of money away from the restaurant into her pocket, albeit through a couple of middle men.
The bar signs up for the gift cards to get people into the door to spend money. They don't sell them in the restaurant because there is no need--the customer is already there.

LO then (2 days) and now (1 year)
Im so sorry you're going through this. Did you let your doctor know that finances were tight? Perhaps there are some free/low cost/sliding scale services that s/he could recommend? Take care of yourself!
I don't post a lot, but there are days when I #loveallthethings. Sometimes I think that makes me seem like an extra creepy lurker/stalker.

that totally sucks.

@Jennlin Thanks!
Gotta say, totally disappointed that that is what it means. My midnight creativity was more exciting! Also...why on earth did that common sense meaning never occur to me?!

My insurance doesn't cover my medicine well at all, it should cost us like $400-$500 and thats with the insurance discount. Recently i found out that if I went on the medicine company's web site they have coupons and prescription cards to help offset the cost. I now get my medicine for $50 a month instead. It's worth a shot if you haven't already looked. Good luck!
Aw thanks for the support guise! I just got a call with a job offer at another sports bar. I don't know if I still want to work somewhere that has me getting home from work 330am. Im very indecisive. @carawasa I was working at Snookers but I was thinking of trying to get in at Hot Club this summer since its always packed so if your ever out I'll buy ya a beer (without a gift card
