Dip Recipe Please!

I need a dip recipe for the game night my work is having in a week. I think a cold dip would be a lot more practical, but I can always microwave it if need be. It will be served with chips. Anyone have a recipe they love?

Re: Dip Recipe Please!

  • I've always been a huge fan of just sour cream and Hidden Valley ranch packet. Another option is to do some cream cheese, velveeta, cheddar, and salsa in a crock pot. My aunt makes this and it's really good. It's like a cheesy orgasm in my mouth.

  • I'm personally a big fan of salsa fresca.  There are a bazillion different ways to make it.  Tomatoes, onion, and cilantro (+ salt) is the easiest one I like.

  • I did a BBQ Ranch one recently that was a big hit. Cream cheese mixed with a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch, then layer BBQ sauce, diced tomatoes, green opinions, shredded cheddar and real bacon crumbles.

  • Stuffed banana pepper dip! Chopped banana peppers, cream cheese, shredded "Italian blend" cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, Gorgonzola. Bake, you could reheat later, but need to bake first to soften the peppers. Serve with pita chips. I sometimes add crumbled Italian sausage.

  • This dip:

It is a hot dip, but still amazing as it cools off.   I could eat the entire pan if no one was looking.

  • To go with Tostitos: Mix 1 brick of cream cheese with a tub of sour cream. Pour into 9x9 pan. Add a layer of salsa on top, and then a layer of grated cheese.
I do this, but I mix in a package of taco seasoning with the cream cheese and sour cream.  It always gets requested for potlucks.

  • To go with potato chips, we do a brick of cream cheese, a tub of cottage cheese, and a packet of onion soup mix. Combine. Done.

I do this except sub sour cream for the cottage cheese.

  • I love taco dip. I do beans, sour cream mixed with taco seasoning, tomato, cheese, and lettuce.

I've done this with potato chips:

    Baked potato dip
    Sour cream
    Cheddar cheese
    Bacon pieces

Mix together. Serve with potato chips.

  • When I am in a hurry for a work potluck I make beer cheese dip.

    2 blocks of cream cheese
1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix
    2 cups of shredded cheese
    1/3 cup of beer.

Mix and serve! I usually serve this with pretzels, but you could do whatever works for you! :)
  • See, I think this is why I go with salsa fresca, or hummus or some other healthy dip.  I think of chips as being nothing more than socially correct ways of shoveling as much dip as possible into your mouth, and I would be a grave risk of eating a full block of cream cheese (if I ate dairy) in the span of five minutes if I didn't do a healthy dip.
