Best Rear-Facing Seat for Tall Baby?

Hi All! Happy motherhood! I haven't posted in years... since I was a new mom to my now 4 year old, but I have a brand new hurdle for which Google hasn't given me a clear solution: My 12 week old was 27" at his 2 month appointment. His carseat is a Graco Snugride (max. ht. 29") that he'll outgrow long before the AAP and I are ready for him to face forward. I'd like a convertible carseat for a tall baby. What are my best options? Do any of you have experiences or resources you could share? I've seen the term "internal seating height," and I don't know what it means. Thanks for any help!

The absolute tallest seats on the market are made by Graco. The shell is the same but they have different names at different retailers: Size4Me, MySize, Headwise and Fit4Me. Beyond those, the next tallest seat is the Chicco Nextfit and then the Radian.

Are you sure about the max height for your seat? We have the Snugride 35 and the max height is 32". We just purchased the Graco Headwise 70 convertible for our tall baby.
