I do the squatting method of kegals and I do it for 1-2 minutes a couple times a day. This is weird but I try to do it when I have to pee, ups the resistance haha.
Sometimes I have a contraction (Braxton Hicks) when I do kegels. Anyone know if I should still do them?
Is it painful? If not then I wouldn't worry about it. The muscles down there are rather interconnected so its not uncommon. Just for peace of mind I'd mention it to your doctor though.
Thanks. No they aren't painful. Just tightness/pressure for 15-30 seconds. I've noticed them a lot in the past few weeks (when I do kegels, have to pee, after I pee, when I lay down). Forgot to mention to my midwife last week, oops. Haven't had more than 2 in an hour though so hoping it's no big deal.
I've combined them into my exercise routine (3 x 1 min wall sits + kegals) so they usually get done once a day. I've been trying to do some before bed too, but by then all I want to do is eat my bedtime snack and pass out.
@joules235 doing some every time you need to pee is a great idea!

Back to kegels, we do "elevator kegels" in my prenatal yoga class, in a squatting position. I'm going to try to do those at home too! https://www.askdrsears.com/topics/pregnancy-childbirth/seventh-month/growing-concerns/kegels/6-kegel-variations-practice
