believe me, I would love nothing more than to have dinner with wife and son but I don't get that luxury.  I do however get to spend another two or three hours fixing everyone elses mistakes so I actually leave early enough on friday to see my family before dark

My snarky comment was not directed snark at you, but general snark.  I imagine that you do very much wish you could choose not to work 5 days a week of long hours away from your family and that you are sad about missing them.  I hope you are able to make a different choice at some point in the future.

I must add, though, that the SAHM in me laughs at "that luxury".  At this point, having done it nearly every single day of the year for the past 3 years and 9 months, "luxury" would be having someone else cook me a meal and not having my daughter in the same building.  We always want what we don't have, eh?  Hopefully both of us can find a happy medium!

this is true.  I do not choose to work the hours that I do as far away from my family as I do but as Im learning as a parent we sacrifice choice in life and do what needs to be done.   Couple that with "life happens" and that just means that I get to see my family two days a week.

I certainly hope for the both of us can find more balance in the future.

They didn't like being called any form of grandma or grandpa. 

Whatever.  They were still my grandparents, no matter what I called them.

As to your OP - I don't see the problem. She broke something. You said you didn't yell or scream but cleaned it up. I see nothing wrong there. I don't know why your sister is not speaking sounds like her issue.

I wouldn't push the hugging etc. I would just ignore that.  

I updated yesterday.....lord knows how many pages ago.  My sister has been very busy at work so we emailed back and forth all day yesterday and we are going to try and plan a weekly at least bi monthly movie night.  The biggest problem is that Im not around enough and just as I said in the last post - for these things in life we have to make time.




I would hope (by now) that everything's been said.....we can finally let this one die.
