READ, PEOPLE! The insurance that was dropped in December was MY OWN. It was dropped because it was the end of the year, and because my job offered insurance. Jeez.
I think what @whocanitbenow is saying that it's illegal to be full time because you work 5 days a week. That's not how it works. The IRS has regulations on what's classified as a full time employee it's not working 5 days a week but it's 40 hours a week. I'm guessing you are a CNA or something along that line and you aren't qualified as an exempt employee.
Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong it's been a few years since I handled insurance. If you lose your job you do not have to wait for open enrollment to get on your spouses insurance.
You are correct. It's a qualifying event.
Thanks, I wasn't sure if it's just by states. It's been years since I've done human resources and a lot has changed in insurance over the past few years.
No. As I said, that is regulated by the IRS, just like which items are FSA/HSA eligible.
I was speaking in regards to getting on her husbands insurance with a qualifying event. Yes, what is considered full time can vary from company to company. At my husbands job 32 hours is considered full time while at the hospital I worked at it was 36. Either way there is no good reason, IMO, for op to not have insurance.
I just want to point out that regardless of your parents' beliefs, you could have gone on bc as a teenager. Maybe it's different in other states, but here in sc you can go to the health dept, be seen by an ob/gyn, and get bcp $5.
Just another example of why it's important to educate and advocate for yourself at any age.
OP - It sounds like you and everyone responsible for your reproductive health have dropped the ball repeatedly. Do some research, stand up for yourself, and good luck.
1. No, my husbands insurance will NOT pick me up until April. We've fought over this until we're blue in the face with his insurance and they wont make an exception. My insurance at work wont pick me up til March first. And yes, that is how our facility does their full-time. Part time is 2 to 3 days a week, PRN is once a month and one holiday. Stop telling me its illegal or wrong, or blah blah. I already know this. There is nothing I can do to change it. I've sent emails, made phone calls, mailed letters, it doesn't make any difference. @mmb248, up until about a year ago, I didn't have the guts to stand up for myself. So yes, the ball was dropped repeatedly. @amandarene, the whole point of my OP was because of curiosity. If its fertile CM, then I'm actually ovulating this cycle and have a (small) chance at being pregnant. If it's not, then I'm not. This post was not meant for me to have to explain this 20 million times, or for all of you to be confused and questioning my cred.

The ONLY reason his insurance would be denying you coverage despite a qualifying event is if you did not go to them to get enrolled within 30 days of the qualifying event.
Additionally, just because you have fertile CM does NOT confirm that you are ovulating. If you had clicked any of the links people provided and did some reading of their posts, you would know that temping or ultrasounds are the ONLY WAY to confirm ovulation. Since you aren't temping you can't confirm.
Okay, that I didn't know. And that's one of the things we asked the insurance company, but they still said it didn't count. The hospital accepted me, but the company itself rejected my apparently because, quote, "Its not during the Open Enrollment period between April 1st, 2014 and April 30th, 2014."
I have fertile cm before during and after O. It doesn't mean that I am actually O'ing when it's present. Like MANY PP's have said, the ONLY way to confirm that you ovulate is to temp! Seriously, I bought mine at walmart for $7 and its not hard to learn.
I have these ladies to thank for introducing BBT to me and I am SO glad I started. Now I know exactly when I O each month.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but fertile CM =/= ovulation. It can happen at any time during your cycle, and has no direct bearing on ovulation.
Sorry if you don't like us caring enough to tell you that taking Vitex and trying to have a kid you can't afford are piss poor decisions, but you're the one who chose to share the details of your situation. And I'm not a rapper from 1997, so I don't know much about "cred."
