De-lurking to say hello

Hi, all. I have lurked this board a few times like the creepy creeper I am and I didn't see a ton of intros but I thought I'd let you know who I am anyway. My first child was born at 26 weeks due to complications from pre-e and HBP that resulted in IUGR and a whole host of other issues. 115 days in the NICU and lots of Harry Potter books later, he is home and doing well. We are expecting our second baby, a little girl, in June, and I am high-risk because of the issues with DS. I am extremely nervous about developing pre-e again and my doctor thinks it's likely that I will, so... yay! Lol anyway, just wanted to say hi and thanks for the info I've gotten so far; can't wait to learn more from all of you.

edit: now that I am re-lurking I see like 432 intros... lurking fail

  • Welcome aboard and congrats on the new addition! Hope you dodge the pre-e bullet this time. Sounds like we are in the same boat. I'm currently 26 weeks and a couple of days and feel like I'm living appointment to appointment, waiting on a pre-e diagnosis and bed rest.

  • @mrsmullins11, exactly! I'm always wondering if this will be the appointment where I find out I have it. I hope you avoid it this time, too!

    @mmsweeney1, thank you!

  • Welcome and congrats! Being pregnant after a preemie is certainly scary, but having good support is key. Hoping we will all be here to cheer when you post your termie birth story!

  • Welcome!  I am also in the same situation, but a little further behind you.  13w with #2 after DD born at 30.6w due to pre-e and abruption.  I was also told I will most likely develop pre-e again, but the hope is that it will not be as early or as severe!  Let's hope that is the case for all of us...well actually, let's hope none of us develop it, but if we do that it is late in the pregnancy and not severe!

    Good luck to you! I hope you have no complications this time around. And I agree - no pre-e in 2014! WHO'S WITH ME
